In some areas such things exist, in others not.

As you don't say where you live, nor how many days a week you are travelling it's impossible to tell

i live in a small area of Barnsley, i dont get on the bus from an interchange so i cant use the PLUSBUS service as my train station doesnt have a ticket service, i buy my tickets on the train..
i travel from elsecar to meadowhall sheffield 5 times a week.
freebies so far... horlicks chocolate malt, comfort samples
    Trails done.... blackhead face mask
Success with compaints... £2.50 from Cadburys

You may be able to save on the rail part of the journey with a season ticket - they are usually about the price of 4 returns for a weekly one with a bit more off a monthly.

As dzug says you can get a season ticket. For Elsecar to Meadowhall the prices according to the National Rail site are:

    7 Days1 Month3 Months6 Months12 Months
    £13.00 £50.00 £149.80 £299.60 £520.00

But as your bus journey costs £2.40 per day or £12 a week, there is another option.

It appears you can get travel passes from Travel South Yorkshire which gives you unlimited travel on bus, trains and trams in South Yorkshire. I suggest you go into the information centre in Meadowhall interchange and ask what the best option for you is.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

Hiya I need a return train ticket, Huddersfield, or Manchester Piccadilly to London for December the 31st coming back on the 1st January (for the fireworks and celebrations). Can anyone recommend a good deal? I have tried using national express etc but all are upwards of £100 :o

I don't know what you've done wrong, but I've just found £11 out and £8 back from Manchester

I used http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/ but all the sites should have these fares. You may just have time to get another £5 off with their current offer.

Well the standard fare is £142, so you are being overquoted anyway

You can do it for around £120 by booking on Virgin's website as long as the 0913 departure suits - coming back it doesn't matter

Had you booked further in advance it could have been cheaper
  • You can get some Advance Single tickets;
    Carlisle to Birmingham 5th 08:21 £48
    Birmingham NS to Carlisle 5th 20:21 £37

    Total £85 for 2 adults

I'll keep looking for any cheaper split tickets

    *Update*
Split tickets works out around the same price, so best bet is one of the above. With Advance tickets you must travel on booked trains and get them early as they do sell out
