Oasis won't refund tickets when promised

I was at the Manchester Heaton Park gig which went badly wrong at which both Gallaghers promised a refund of tickets. I sent 4 off (tracked) and have just had anonymous letter saying I wasn't eligible for any of half-a-dozen reasons (none of which apply in my case) but with no return address how can I argue - they say no correspondence will be entered into!
Can I get a refund from my credit card company? They were bought from Ticketmaster using a Mint credit card.
Thanks for any help. Am well annoyed with the Gallagher deceipt machine aka their PR dept making out they're heroes for this con ie. going back on their word to stop a potential riot at the concert on the night.

Have the Manchester Evening News been alerted about this? Might be worth contacting them? I'm sure you're not going to be the only dissatisfied customer.0 -
Last I heard they were giving 'Bank Of Burnage' cheques which were issued by Natwest bank and could either be cashed or kept as a keep sake.

If you're one of the lucky 20,000 then maybe. If not you get a letter which says :
"Your application for a compensation payment for the 4 June Oasis show in Heaton Park was ineligible. One of the following reasons will apply.
You were not the original purchaser of the tickets returned.
The tickets were not the purchased from an official Oasis ticket agent.
The tickets returned were not scanned on entry to the show.
The application form was incorrectly or partially completed so processing was not possible.
The application was for more than the four tickets per applicant allowed.
Multiple applications were received by you all of which are disallowed.
Your application was received after the closing date for submission.
We hope you enjoyed the show anyhow. No correspondence will be entered in to."
I purchased them from Ticketmaster which were scanned on entry using one of those portable barcode scanners. The form was fully completed and signed for my only 4 tickets which was sent tracked well within the limit.

Hmmm. The letter has no address or even who it came from which seems dodgy. Will have a look on their website. They also kept my pristine set of tickets - could have sent them back at least.
Here's a quote from Liam from the night "This is a free gig now. Everyone will get a refund." to which his brother Noel added: "The curfew's 11, but we'll play 'til they kick us off. Keep your ticket and you'll get your money back."
Well, not in my case - or many others I'll bet.

And you're contractually entitled to a refund why?0

Like a couple of my mates who were there said, they still got to see a good show even if there was a bit of a technical hitch so they're not bothered about getting their money back.If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00

Because they were told they would be...?0

A very very long shot but you could try contacting Liam Gallagher through twitter. I know he replies to some people and I know it is the real Liam Gallagher and not someone pretending to be him.

Hi Manchester 2009,
I too am victim to the promise but to no aveil, i left early as after waiting around for nearly an hour not knowing what was happening, by 10pm we were fed-up.
As a result, i took them up on their offer, followed the procedure to the letter, and i also got the same letter, as did hundreds, i have seen various forums all telling the same story - me, i have reported it to Trading Standards - there must be something legal binding here especially when the event and the 'gesture' has been so well documented in the media and video footage on YouTube, i advise you do the same thing!!!
Please see this link, it will provide the same stories from other disappointed fans - so nice to be treated in such a gentleman fashion!!!

But it was the Gallagher Brothers that said it would be a free concert. Nit their management company OR any ticket agency. Don't think you'll have much of a case myself but good luck and let us know your progress. If At First You Don't Succeed, Call It Version 1.00
