ok not syaing your thick or owt but have you actually connetcted pc to monitor
and plugged monitor in and switched it onReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
lol yes all hooked up
the monitor detects it has cables and flicks between the DVI/VGA connection showing no signal0 -
Sorry for being simplistic and basic .. but could it be a case the card is faulty, because you haven;t seen it boot successfully. Try it on another PC if you can to verify it works, then if it does try flicking between different sources on your monitor to ensure its selecting the right input from the PC.
Also, check to see the card doesn't need a seperate power feed DIRECT from the PSU, power unit, in the PC. Most new-ish cards use this feature if they're of the high-spec variety because they need more power.0 -
Another thing is did you connect the screen to the onboard vga slot or the slot on the graphics card you had installed. Alot of people connect to the onboard when they have a 3rd party graphics card installed0

hi there,i cant check the card seperatly as i have no PC's with an AGP slot
ive tried both onboard and the cards VGA connections
it doesnt have a connection for seperate power(that i can see)
its only got the redundant connection fro the fan as it uses a heatsink
whereas this has a fan
hmm image links seem to be playing up,well you can see the various types here

have you connected the 4 pin motherboard connector (if necessary)?
Any beeps when it starts?
is the CPU one mentioned on the board's compatability list?
try reseating the CPU.
check for shorts under the motherboard (risers left in/misplaced)Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -
hi there, yup 4 pin is in place
managed to dig out an old mobo and got this to boot to post with the ram and GFX card fitted(outputting over the GFX card VGA)
mobo and CPU came as a unit(2nd hand) so should be compatible.
think im going to try and do an install with this old mobo just to see if the RAM and GFX card work fine.
then i know i can focus on the mobo/CPU0 -
bought 2nds hand? nothing as simple as the clear cmos jumper in the...er..clear position?Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0

If it's posting, you should get a beep. You haven't seen this 2nd hand mo/board working yourself , I guess?

Doubt it's a compatibility issue, more likely faulty board.0 -

left the CMOS battery out all night
no difference
ive got the graphics card to work in another board so its not the issue.
i'll go back to the mobo and double check connections and seating.
no signs of any damage to the board though0
