I think they keep "reinventing" it because everyone prefers different chefs and some chef recipes are more fussy than others.

Still have to watch the student episode. Am waiting for the book to be delivered from Amazon.

I am quite impressed. I usually do rubber chicken and cook double to freeze, but other than making bolognaise into chilli, don't often do the whole bedrock thing. Not all of them would work out economical to our family without some tweaking (eg adding lentils and oats to mince), but I like the ideas and OH loves the chilli recipe.
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

I think it is that reusable baking liner stuff you can get at Lakeland. It's jolly useful;)
Flippin eck. We don't have lakeland here (not that I'm aware of ) and I'm kind of scared to intriduce myself to it - as people seem to addicted to buying from it!

I've read and re read the link there, but it's not sinking in my brain. Reusable baking liner stuff. Ok, i get it!

Are't there two more episodes? This weeks is single parent, so will be interesting. See how long it is before it gets ripped to pieces

SPOILER FOR WED 9th SEP SHOW

Jenni believes that only the finest and most expensive ingredients should go into her meals. She spends a fortune on luxuries like smoked salmon and crab meat. She will only use the most expensive cuts from the dearest butchers and can shop up to four times a day in different places for the right ingredients. Can the chefs win her over with their tailor-made recipes, a one-stop shop and a waste not want not approach?
How will Jenni and son Jourdan enjoy dishes like slow-roasted shoulder of lamb, spicy quesadillas, seared squid with chorizo and an Allegra dessert special - sad fruit made happy?

But I like shopping in four (or more) different places to pick up food!

Beats fighting through the crowds at the big supermarket for manky produce and unidentifiable "roasting joints", for one thing.......
Oh come on, don't be silly.

I also quite like shopping in a few different places! An amble around town with a visit to the butcher, the greengrocer, the fishmonger and the farmers market certainly beats a mad trolley dash around Morrisons. Don't get chance to buy everything this way, but I try to get as much as I can.

Anyone else remember the program and cookery book from 1999 by Sophie Grigson, called "Feasts for a Fiver"?

My local library has it - seem s they are a bit behind on getting new books in - luckily for me:rotfl:

Oo a customer gave hubby 725g of toms from his greenhouse so I am definitely going to do the tom sauce and meatball recipe now.
    A few questions first please.
It says a Fennel head - how much is a fennel head please? Never seen one before! :o Also, crushed fennel seeds, would I find those in the dried herbs section?
"Cooking chorizos" - would this be on the deli meat counter or with the pre-packed cooked meats?
Sorry for all the dumb questions but never used those ingredients before.
The recipe states 750g pork mince but I'm sure 450g is sufficient for 4 people.

Finally, can anyone point me in the direction of the fish cake recipe as I can't seem to locate it on the EG webpage?

    Thanks! :)
