    Hi everyone,

Bitsy, that cheesecake sounds lovely! Good luck with your new little one.
DG, glad you had a good time in York, sorry to hear about all the upset at home though.
celyn, I hope the tickets turn up.
patchwork cat, not exactly charity work, but my ds is working the projector in church for his silver D of E. Could your son do anything like that?
kunekune, glad it was good news.

I've had a slow start here this morning...Haribo was on the phone for at least an hour and somehow managed to set herself on fire while talking to me. "Hold on, I can smell burning....something's on fire...oh it's my hair!" I've done the dishes and made the beds, but that's about it. I want to spend some time in the garden today as I have to pot up the peppers and pick the rest of the peas. We had the first homegrown potatoes for tea last night and they were delicious, so I might pull up some more for tonight.

Basically I'm going to do anything that will help me put off hemming the curtains in the living room. We redecorated last week and they needed to be dry cleaned. I got a quote for having them done and as they're fully line it was £70  So I decided to risk throwing them into the washing machine. They washed like a ribbon and have come up beautifully, but they're about an inch shorter than they were. They don't look too bad as they are, but it's annoying me. I just hate sewing but I suppose I'd better just get on with it. :o Tea will be something with fish, but I'm not sure what yet....maybe new potatoes and salad with a rhubarb crumble to follow.

Hope you all have a good day.

Thanks for the concern. I'm fine by the way.:o:p

The weather forecast has it wrong again. We are forecast rain every day and then the sun splits the sky. Not that I'm complaining. :D

Still working my way through the ironing but it's breeding.
Taking the girlies to a National Trust property this afternoon and to a few craft shops in a nearby village. Just about the have leftover tuna pasta for lunch and have prepped a tea of black pudding, chorizo and goat's cheese salad for tea.

    Great news KuneKune. x
    Hello Churchie :hello:
FE, I second the opinion that morning sickness is a sign of a healthy pregnancy. :j

    Take care everyone

Of course I would be concerned if it was an unusual occurrence, but that sort of thing is quite normal for you. ;):D:p

 At HJ setting her hair on fire!!

Halight, hope the twins get better soon.
Fairyelephant, glad all is well with the pregnancy and that the morning (well, afternoon!) sickness isn't too bad.

Last night I emptied a cardboard box in my bedroom that has been there since we moved in (18 months :o). It is a load of odd socks, so job today is to find all the matching ones and pair them all up!

Got the foster cat sorted, she is going back to the RSPCA whilst we are away. She has to stay in a pen which is a shame, but all she does is sleep so hopefully she won't mind too much. Taking her to the vet today for a check up after her operation last week. All seems fine, so hopefully she'll be given the all clear.

Anyway, better shake a leg as vets is at 2!

    Have a good day all.

Pink, could you get away with shuffling the hooks on the tape to make them hang a bit lower, or even adding fresh tape to them rather than all that hemming?

    Hi All,

OH had a consultant appointment at 10.15 so that took up all morning....wasn't seen until about 11.15, but was very impressed with thoroughness of consultation....he really emphasised to him that he should not drink and has also given him 12 weeks meds to get him to stop smoking....think I will move out for the 12 weeks....first 2 weeks he continues to smoke and then stops....I tried to stay out of discussion as he has to do these things for himself...hope that he makes the effort, if he can find something else to do with his time he will be much happier and by association so will I!

Dinner to-day will be steak for OH and spag bol for the rest of us, found a portion of steak in freezer which needs to be used, that will stretch the bol sauce to leave us some to put in freezer. 2 sets of bedlinen on line, very windy so will be happy if they get another hour, they will just have to air in house then. Might do a bit of tidying in my bedroom, lots of stuff needs to be dumped or sent to charity shop so that I can fit my wearable clothes into the wardrobe.

Haribo...please be careful with the matches!

Halight...poor twins, hope that they improve soon....are you ok?

Donny....Thats the kind of excitement you could do without.

Bitsy....good luck with Friday, sure you'll be fine.

    PenPin....hope that you are ok.

    Taplady....don't spend all your money....

FE....eating regularly helps immensely and something with ginger in it or a ginger biscuit helps too.

have a good day all, welcome to any newbies and congratulations to all who are celebrating

Well the settling in session went so well my new mindee didn't want to go home with her mum! Her mum told me she'd never been like this before so I took that as a good sign. DD is so demanding of my time I am not sure I could manage to do this for more than one day a week though :o

FE - who ever coined the phrase morning sickness was lying ;) Mine lasted on and off all day and went on til 20 weeks :( I would retch at the slightest thing and I found sucking constantly on extra strong mints helped me (I think it was because I had something in my mouth) so it's a wonder I have any teeth left, never mind having no fillings! I also used to sniff one of those olbas oil inhalers as I found the smell to be really pleasant and would ease (albeit temporarily) the nausea. Still it's a good sign for you :T

kunekune - glad it was good news for your OH job

HJ - @ burning your hair. How on earth did you manage that?!!!!

After a good clean round ive managed to get tonight shepherds pie filling in the slow cooker bulked out with lots of carrot and onions and YS mince, that will make enough for the freezer too. I think im on a YS mission today as i have just had lunch using YS ready rolled puff pastry and ham, some tomatoes that my mum left me before she went away and a bit of ketchup as i was out of tomatoe puree, made a lovely ham, cheese and tomatoe slice :D . Im really loving cooking for myself these days and takeaways are almost non existent all thanks to the old style section here :T . I had a friend over for dinner last week, years ago we used to be flatmates and he used to be horrified at my idea of a "proper" cooked meal, as i washed up in the kitchen i heard him declare rather loudly "oh my god she's learned to cook " :rotfl: Im not sure how money saving the baking is tho we're lucky if it cools down before its gone :o

Thanks all! Churchmouse, Haribo - that's the way I am looking at the MS (or AS!) too - it must be a sign that all is going well and 'beanie' is snuggled in!
Marie - Thanks! - I am currently drinking loads of 'savers' sparkling water with lemon & ginger - it's really nice! - and nibbling on ginger biscuits! Seems to be working as I don't feel sick this afternoon (just so tired I can hardly keep my eyes open...). I have a 'goodie drawer' in my desk now, full of snacks & nibbles, but got to try to keep them healthy ones as don't want to put on too much weight (yet!).
Ladyshopper - it all seems to be going OK this time as far as I can tell - at least the 'symptoms' seems normal!
OOH Bitsy - I keep reading that it goes at about 15 weeks - hope that is true for me!
