I always rinse.Don't understand why people don't.0

I always rinse my dishes. My old flatmate never did and you could always tell what had been washed by me and what had been washed by her because my dishes were all shiny and hers had a sort of film on them.
Often they had bits of food stuck on them too that must have been floating around in the dishwater... Gross...0 -
I always rinse (when I hand-wash). If someone gives me a cup of tea from a cup that hasn't been rinsed, I can often taste the soap taste and smell its smell, it puts me right off! Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0

i rinse!! i have a dishwasher now so it is not such a big thing now but i remember when i was little and my dad washed up and then poured a boiled kettle over the draining board so that he didn't have to use a tea towel! and once he had sorted his drink he could put everything away :Tit's nice to be important but more important to be nice!! :kisses3:0

always rinse!... I can't think of a situation where you would use soap or detergent on anything and not rinse it off0

Before I had a dishwasher I never rinsed. Don't see the point - washing up liquid doesn't taste of anything so there is no point in rinsing it off.0

I always rinse as that's what I was taught to do as a child, it would seem odd to me not to.0

That just brought back a long-lost memory! Yes my dad did that too.
It was back in the days of wooden draining boards and I think it was something to do with making sure that there was no soapy water left on it to go slimey as well as rinsing the dishes.
By the way, does anybody else have a problem with a draining board that doesn't - drain I mean. In my last flat I had this problem and was soooo annoying. Moved into this newbuild house and thought yay - new draining board - no more problems. But what would you guess - there it is again - a non-draining draining board - grrrrrrrrrrr:mad:.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't - depends how lazy I'm feeling. Mum always rinses. If I rinse them in clean hot water then they're dry by the time I've finished cleaning the worktops so can be put straight away. If I'm in a rush then I leave them until I'm next in (half a day) and then put them away.0

I don't believe in drying up and try to let things air dry when possible.
So everything has plenty of time to drip dry. I can't imagine there's much a detergent residue left - I don't use a great deal anyway.
But I can't make a drink in a wet cup... that's just grossMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0
