Do 6 or 7 oem come with RECODE for putting DVDs onto a PSP?
Not sure if it's bundled with these. I have v6 and can't recall seeing it. It's certainly in the v7 Ultra Edition though.

According to Softpedia Recode appears to be Freeware so you're able to download it from that site. There are some useful instructions on this, and similar programs here.

It's no secret that I'm involved in the Software/Media industry so would condemn any non-legitimate usage of the above as "bad money saving".
    Can I help?

Nero Recode comes in both version 6 and 7. However the PSP directory structure and compatibility is only available in the latest versions of Recode, so probably only version 7 actually supports this.

Do not buy version 6 OEM for £2, everything is missing from this version and it's barely able to write to CD's.

If you go for an OEM version make sure it contains suite 3 plugins as all other OEM's like the £2 version 6 only contain Nero express and no DVD writing or playing capabilities.

Edit: Ebuyer have version 6.6 with suite 3 plugins for £6.50, I can not guarantee what is included with the version 7 available, but would expect you get all the relevant programs including Recode in their express form.
  • Hmm I have the full edition of Nero 6 (came with my laptop along with XP Pro & Win DVD - for playing DVDs & Norton Ghost) but I still don't use it for my PSP - there is very good freeware around that does this job very well and I have managed to plug every single DVD to my PSP using them.

I bought the £2 version and it does have DVD writing facilities! Maybe only after installing the updates though, I'm not sure. I don't have a DVD burner to be honest (never found the need for one) so haven't tested it but I just had a look and the feature is definitely there. For £2 this is an absolute bargain, especially as you can install all the updates. I have burnt hundreds of CD's with it as my son is in a band and we really do burn HUNDREDS of cd's at a time, on a very basic 800mhz pc. I have also made dozens of VCD's using this software and all play perfectly in my DVD player.

That is strange as I purchased a few copies of this from Ebuyer about a year ago along with OEM DVD drives for resale and there was certainly no DVD features. The full version I am running now has a drop down box at the top where you select CD or DVD depending on what you want to do, where as the sub £2 copies only had the CD option(even after update).

I was informed by Ahead that basic OEM only had CD capabilities, so looks to me like you were lucky or this has changed since my purchase.

Anyway, I returned the cheap version and replaced with the £7 suite 3 and this contained all the DVD features.

OK - just to clarify. OEM software is intended for distribution with hardware - in this case probably a CD / DVD burner. It may or may not have all the functionality of a retail version, this depends on the marketing strategy of the software vendor / developer.

Please don't confuse it with car boot pirate copies. Bought from the likes of ebuyer, you can be sure it's legit, just make sure it's got the features you need.

Mine is the £2 version from ebuyer and in the drop down menu it has CD/DVD, CD and DVD. When dropping down DVD i get tools including make a data DVD, make a bootable DVD, burn dvd-video files and several others. My current version of Nero OEM is 6.6.0.6. but after reading this I have just downloaded to update to 6.6.1.4. I havent actually installed all the features on the CD as I didn't need them, I just wanted a fairly basic CD burning tool and it has worked very well for me. I've certainly had more than my £2's worth. I bought this about 18 months ago from ebuyer after reading in the reviews that other people had also upgraded to a full version. Maybe they did make a mistake and have now altered it, I don't know. The only way to find out I suppose would be to buy another and try that.
Must remind you though that I do not have a DVD burner so I have not tested to see if these features function or not, but if you read the reviews on ebuyer other people have full functionality after installing the updates.
    Cheers

I bought the £2 OEM version 6 Nero from Ebuyer a couple of weeks ago and after installing it only supported CD burning. I then went to the Nero website and downloaded the Nero Version 6 updates (1-4) and now have:

    Nero StartSmart 2
    Nero Express 6
    Nero BackItUp
    Nero SoundTrax
    Nero Image Drive
    Nero Burning ROM 6
    Nero Cover Designer
    Nero Wave Editor
    NeroVision Express 3
    Nero Recode 2
    Nero ShowTime 2
    Nero PhotoSnap
    Nero MediaHome
    InCD
    Nero Media Player

I can confirm that it DOES burn DVD's after the updates and seems to have
complete functionality having burnt numerous DVD's (both DVD-R's and DVDRW's.

I bought the OEM version after reading on another forum that you just had to download the updates from Nero to gain full functionality of a full Nero 6 install. It's true!

    Hope this helps!

There are two £2 versions from e-buyer, Nero 6 and Nero 6.6. I am begining to wonder of 6.6 was reprogrammed to stop this happening. Just a thought, I've no idea if that is the case or not but if buying the £2 version remember that version 6 is tried and tested. Anyone have experience of 6.6?
