Hi Hettie :hello:
Hope you are o.k. Was wondering the other day how you were getting on? Hope you are putting one foot in front of the other, then one day you can look back and see how far you've come.

Hi Hettie,
Just thinking about you. At the risk of sounding a bit odd, I dreamt about you last night. A friendly, reassuring face was smiling at me and encouraging me to do something I was struggling with. I thought, "Who's that?" And then answered myself, " Oh, it's Hettiecarro".
I really hope you are keeping well and too busy to post. If not, then you have a lot of supporters on here, wishing you well.
Take care,

Hi everyone. Just a quick post to let you know I amstill here. Have had a bit of a rough time this last few months. Will post update in next few days - but I am still getting on with it and am really proud that my 'self sufficient' Christmas has been a great success (without the worry of piling on any debt).

Hello everyone. If you haven't all given up on me I am still struggling on but have been really ill for a few months now. The medication is at last starting to stabilise my moods.
My situation is looking much brighter on the debt front. Although I haven't made formal offers to creditors yet (and of course they may well refuse me), OH is taking cash lump sum against his pensions to enable me to make F&F offers. It will mean a slight reduction when he reaches pensionable age, but we need these debts sorted. He is able to raise about 25K.
I have managed to raise around 16k by ebaying, selling the car & Mums things and various other ways and means. I am now a dab hand at managing on a strict budget (wish to God I had done it earlier in my life - so all of you young ones- learn the art IT IS WELL WORTH IT AND VERY SATISFYING).
I now need to use the calculator tool to work out how much to offer each creditor. Nationwide have been absolutely horrendous and I have had debt collectors at the door etc. However - I kept my nerve and sent them away with the 'template letter regaring visits without appointments' - VERY EFFECTIVE.
The only down side has been that Nationwide have totally clobbered me for interest on the accounts outstanding and my CAB advisor has been off work for 2 months following a back injury - so I've had to deal with it myself again as they didn't have enough cover at the bureau. However what the did for me initially was a great help.
I am embarrassed to come back on here, but didn't want you to think I have given up. Somedays I have not even been able to get out of bed - so coping with this allhas been a struggle ( Moan,Moan,Moan):o - don't take any notice of me!!!
When I think back to the despair I was in 6 months ago it makes me very grateful for all the support I have had to get to this point, and I want to send hugs to anyone who has supported me, and also anyone struggling with their own problems at the moment.
It's good to be posting again - though I will be glad when this is sorted and I can become debt free and come on to help others in need of support.
