Dollyday so sorry to hear that sad news. FWIW, with regards to what your LO sees, try not to worry too much about being upset in front of her. It is sad, and you are upset, it's ok to show that you're sad because you've lost someone you love. ... but, that's just my opinion. (((hugs)))

    How old iS LO?

she is only 3, and the only time my nan saw her was when DD was about 2 months old, i feel so awful for not going to see my nan more when i was home visiting, i just didn't like to see her going downhill so now feel awful as DD has never got to know her and feel awful as we knew it was going to happen in the next few weeks and i never went to see her before she has gone.
any ideas on how to deal with this and DD?

My DD was 4 when both MIL ansd FIL passed away and she was quite close to them, I just told her that thay had gone to be stars in the sky.....worked for a while till she asked " Nanny and Bampy have been stars for a long time, when are they coming back?"....almost broke my heart, but I told her that sometimes people get sick when they are old and the doctors can't make them better so they go up to heaven with God and become stars to look sfter us.......worked for her, even though she said she saw them once or twice.....they looked OK so she was happy xx

    DollyDD hugs on your loss

Car picked up. The dog and I walked the long, long way round to the garage. We both got really rather hot on the walk in the sunshine. But got back just in time to get the washing off the line. There's an enormous black cloud just about to dump something evil heading this way.

Just having a cuppa then I'm off out shopping.

DollyDD - sorry to hear about your Nan, I don't think you can hide your feelings completely from your LO, she will pick it up anyway. Kids are very perceptive. I tried to be as straightforward as possible with my DD when my Nan died, she was naturally curious but took it in her stride really. Just my view, you must do what you think best.
Sexymouse and others, HHI - what a success! Ironing pile has turned into neat clothes on hangers - what a relief! I always put it off, but it is never as bad as I think it will be.
Am having a cuppa now with a Viennese whirl - OH bought them this morning, very out of character. I can't decide whether to get the sewing machine out or do bathroom after my sit down. I think 15 minutes of each is the sensible way to go.
