You're right about one thing - no-one HAS to bother to write helpful articles for people to read. I notice you don't, for example.

    Anyway.... back on track.

Basically OP, if you can't prove that CPW received your claim (i.e. you didn't send recorded or special delivery) and you have now missed the opportunity to resend then you are well and truly stuffed.

BTW, a lot of companies say if you miss one claim then you can't make any subsequent claims either.... :-(

Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

Guy's Dad:- Yes, they have - no doubt hundreds of them (dozens on here). There are many threads on this and they take some time reading through. ........................
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=558661&page=12

    Took all of two minutes:-

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=226689&highlight=e2save

For those you can't figure out HOW to search; in the top right hand corner of the screen, click the arrow next to search and select "forums"; then type in the key word (e.g. E2Save") and scroll down all the latest thread entries selecting any releavant threads. .....................

Your links and advice should be very helpful to OP. Try to remember with over 2,400 posts to your credit that it is daunting for newcomers who come to this new and, as you rightly say, there are hundreds of threads that come up if you put in CPW/E2Save. Difficult to find the wheat from the chaff unless you know what to look for in particular.

Can you expand the recent tactical changes from CPW from your latestexperience?

Yes. Last time one of my people sued they took it to the wire but coughed up when we stood firm. Others on these threads around that time went all the way to court and one or two of them actually lost, despite seemingly having a good case. It wouldn't deter me from suing, but you really need to be totally sure of your case and be able to make it should it be necessary. However, it's been over a year since E2Save actually offered any decent cashback deal (apart from one on an 18 month contract which quietly went unnoticed) and they have recently started sending confirmation texts of claim receipts. I am still using one cpw dealer and have mixed views of them - no-one could be worse than E2Save had become, but Phones4u have been flawless with all the contracts I've been involved with for almost two years. I actually flout some of my own groundrules (though with a back-up plan) and have found them exemplary throughout. It goes without saying that their shops have the opposite reputation, but the almost complete lack of negative feedback on here during the last two years with regard to their cashback contracts reinforces my belief that they are (currently) trustworthy.

Having been on here for a number of years and been deeply and extensively involved with both companies, I find it amusing if not amazing that (at times) I have actually been accused of working for E2Save and (at others) only ever attacking them. As I have said repeatedly elsewhere on all those threads, things change. I can only re-iterate that no-one should get involved with any cashback deal with any dealer unless they are prepared to put in the necessary legwork beforehand AND keep up to date throughout. It should be obvious even to the completely naive that cashback deals (at least free ones) RELY on most people NOT getting their cashback!

It seems like one should avoid buying phones off the internet. It seems the cashback offers are mainly cons.

This is what my research is saying.

    Thanks for the help.

Perhaps the article on the site should be amended to say this.

I sent CPW an LBA last month for outstanding cashbacks and they paid up straight away (over £500 outstanding on three e2save contracts).
They even sent me the cheque by special delivery!
I sent my correct bills at the correct time but they will not pay...
Roughly what dates did you send in the bills?

I would just like to thank you along with many others no doubt for all the advice you have given us on this forum.I made the time to read all the advice and thankfully had no problems.Unfortunately alot of people now days expect everything to be done for them and don't like the consequences if they don't follow advice from people like yourself who devote time advising them of all the possible pitfallls. Many thanks.

It is for people like you who do take some time and trouble to make sure that they know what they are doing beforehand which makes the flack I get for my acerbic comments worthwhile. I am certain you are not alone - I learnt an immense amount by researching on here long before I actually joined to say anything. I am in turn grateful to all those who educated me when I was green and sceptical in cashback matters. One thing which motivates me is to stop dishonest dealers having a smooth ride - and to share some of the knowledge and experience I have accumulated with those who really do try to get it right but still get into trouble. To that end I have helped a few now and then with pms where I can.

The reason I get annoyed is that so many people jump without looking because it's too good to miss - as opposed to too good to be true - and even then come on here for help rather than putting in their own time to salvage themselves. There has also been (at times) some bad advice on these threads - particularly when a dealer goes bust and the army of angry punters gather to blame everyone but themselves and encourage all to join the leemings club to make things worse for themselves than they already are.

Ultimately I am not prepared to spoon feed adults who are perfectly capable of working a lot out for themselves; but I would like to think that when I sound harsh there is also good advice hidden in the words which might help or, where not, serve as a warning to the many others who continue to get themselves into trouble with cashback schemes. These schemes DO work extremely well BUT (obviously) rely on most people failing to succeed with them. It doesn't take a mathematical genius to work that out - so people must FIRST ask themselves whether they are prepared to ensure thay are among the winners rather than the losers. If winning and losing isn't their game then cashback deals aren't for them in the first place. In order to win, they need to train and ensure they are up to the game. COMPANIES DO NOT GIVE SOMETHING FOR NOTHING; if it's not a scam, then they rely on gaining overall - and THAT means at the expense of a lot of their customers!

With regard to the OP they must FIRST ensure they have their claim dates right - E2Save are notorious in their a) ambiuguity of t&c and b) willingness (indeed enthusiasm) for ignoring them. IF there is still time within the LEGAL claim window they can STILL re-submit their claims using copy bills AND recorded (at least) delivery - covering themselves by also finding and copying the details on the E2Save site (if still there - they change regularly) stating that copies are acceptable. However, it is likely that having got to the stage of a rejection letter the claim window has been missed. If the legal t&c allow subsequent claims (unlikely) having missed one then the OP has the opportunity to learn from their mistake and salvage the rest of the cashback. If the claim window has gone, there is no proof of delivery and subsequent claims aren't allowed they must move on and learn from their mistake. I will say, however, that the mistakes were completely avoidable had they done their research and followed my guidelines. People thinking my guidelines aren't pertinent or crucial are doing others a disservice, simply because they are all still valid and they work! If this is interpreted as negative, unsympathetic or any of the other responses I attract from some people, I stand by the fact that it may also help others who have not yet fallen into the usual traps from so doing.

    Hi,

I've had e2save cashback in the past with no problems (last one finished in Dec07).

I've just taken a new 24 month contract, and as usual there are contradictions in their cashback T&Cs; ie:
the email sent to me "IMPORTANT INFORMATION: Your Cheque Back Offer ID..."
    states:

"be made out on our official claim form (available online at
    https://www.secure-mobiles.com/files/pdfs/e2_Claim_Form_Jan_08.pdf)
be accompanied by your relevant network bill, as stated above (photocopies
    accepted)."

and further down on the SAME email:-
"When sending in your claim, securely attach the appropriate chequeback
voucher to the airtime bill (chequeback vouchers can be found in your
    Welcome Pack)."

However, I didn't receive any chequeback vouchers! Should I have received any?
Does anyone have an email address for e2save to get clarification in writing?

The website help also states: (different yet again) "
Do I need to use Claim Vouchers?
There is no need for claim vouchers please just send in the required bill. Refer to the cashback terms and conditions for further information " !!!!

Also, can anyone clarify what bill I would need to send.
    My email states
"Claim 1 – Send in the bill dated 6 calendar months from the date of
connection, you will receive £48.00 by cheque within 28 days.
i.e. If you purchased on the 1st April 2008, you need to send in a bill
that is dated within September 2008, your claim window is 60 days from the
    date of that bill."

My connection date was 25th July 2009 (month 1), so I assume month 6 is December 2009, so I need to send in the bill with December's date.

    Many thanks for your help!!

    1) Print off the t&c at the point of order; ignore what they say in their emails and stick with whatever it said at the time (and make sure you can prove it).

    2) Ignore month numbers - always been a complete red herring. It will be the December bill. However, this won't apply to everyone - they a) change their t&c regularly to confuse and mislead and b) try to change them and make up new ones as they go along. In 2007 they were a great company up until around June. Since then they have decided to stuff their customers in a variety of ways. Cover yourself in case you need to sue.

If the deal is still on there I recommend you go through the first part of the ordering process and copy every part of the t&c and cashback instructions from there whilst you still can.
