yeah i also use the 2 browser thing - works a treat. aim high if it is something you really want just in case....
....though i wouldn't go shouting about your new found method to your friends. less people that know about this the better

entering higher bids will not push the price i pay up every time i enter a higher bid it is when someone else bids that it will increase,i feel that this system works for me in that it stops shill bidders to a certain extent, and other bidders who try a last minute bid but dont have time to quickly put in another bid in the heat of the moment when they find out that their last minute bid was still not enough.
but at the end of the day if someone places a higher bid i still wont win with this method, but as i said it works better for me this way.
It's simple really. Just bid ONCE with 10 seconds left, with the maximum you're willing to pay. If you get outbid then you weren't willing to pay anymore anyway.0 -

It's nothing to do with the rules, it's about not showing your interest until the last moment and then just bidding your best price at the end. What goes around - comes around0 -
Surely its not that simple if someone else is doing the same!brains wrote:It's simple really. Just bid ONCE with 10 seconds left, with the maximum you're willing to pay. If you get outbid then you weren't willing to pay anymore anyway.0 -

Lol! If everyone used the same techniques, just think how prescriptive and boring the whole thing would become. For example, if everyone used snipers, the whole sniper thing would fall down, because everyone would set their sniper for 5/6 seconds. I do what works for me, everyone else is, obviously, free to do the same - there's no such thing as a deadcert way to bid on Ebay.
I only exist in my own mind - if you can see, hear or read me, you are a product of my imagination.0 -
But the way to lose out on bids is not bidding enough...and we all do it. Lets assume the item is worth £100 to you but with one minute to go is standing at £50. The biggest mistake is to decide to only bid £60 (to get it cheap) and item sells to highest bidder (not you) for £62...that is the most infuriating thing!! When if you had bid £100 you most probably would have won it at a fair discount to your maximum price.0

i spoke too soon! lol
just missed an auction in the last few seconds,i placed a bid at 22 seconds just one highest bid ,i had a second window open and it went through straight away but it said the auction had ended! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..................
there must have been some sort of time delay or advance as i definatly refreshed at 22 seconds then immediatly bid!0
