I don't see the point in doing nothing and keeping quiet, as it's already been confirmed that the orders are going through for a Sanyo TV.

If on the other hand this was a mis-price then it would be worth staying quiet.

Personally I would not want the hassle of taking a day off work to take delivery of a 32inch CRT TV, as the box alone is huge ! Then you have to take another day off work for collection of returned TV.

    That's right.
Doesn't matter if somebody loses their job as long as you get your cheap telly (which we all know isn't coming anyway).
By the way, this is a forum for helping each other out. Not asking a stupid question then slagging other members off with your folllow-up post.
    Can I help?

I think the difference here was people were receiving confirmation orders with the WRONG item listed. As talkshop has said, i'm sure plenty of people dont want to be taking two days off work just accept and then send back a TV which they didnt order.

These were never going to be sent out until maybe at the very earliest Tuesday anyway, at which point their stock system would have alerted them to the fact that there was a massive increase in orders.

Don't get me wrong, there are some stupid people who will alert companies of the fact when there is absolutely no need to, but in this instance were people had confirmation of the wrong item, a phone call is justified.
  • My email order confirmation was for:

TV3200 32-in HD ready LCD plasma television PY8814

    not a Sanyo TV.

Not everybody has hundreds of pounds available to spend, this is quite a big financial commitment, and the description of the product was ambiguous. I don't think it's unreasonable to ring them up to clarify what you would receive
This is a forum for finding bargains, not for do gooders to try and get brownie points by ringing companies up telling them of THEIR mistakes
It doesn't sound like that to me in this instance, although I do certainly detest people coming on this forum and moralising about us taking advantage of misprices etc.

Having said that I don't enjoy reading threads with people hurling insults at each other, I prefer to think of this as a fairly friendly and civilised forum
Thanks to all who post constructively.

If you like being a do gooder then good for you but still keep it to yourself.
Perhaps you'd like to consider removing your signature then?
By the way, are you stalking me? Your last post was back in February when you launched a similar unchristian attack at me.

I think it is when you actually log into your account, and check your order that people have said it says Sanyo widescreen TV, and that is what customer services will be looking at.

I've not had an email telling me that it is a sanyo and not the LCD but I've just logged in to my littlewoods account and in there it says my order is a sanyo CRT.

This is even though I had the confirmation email yesterday telling me it was the Orion LCD.

I'd suggest everyone who has ordered one to log into their account and check what it says in there.
