RBS Credit search done, didn't click on apply!

Not quite. The member of staff, who is extremely unlikely to be the branch manager, has the option to refer on applications that decline to another department. There is no way whatsoever that anything can be done to 'override' the decision.
In the cases of someone answering 'yes' to the bankruptcy question it will automatically decline, however, if the person is discharged from bankruptcy then they should be able to have a Key Account. Occasionally though if someone's post discharge credit file is starting to look a bit messy they may be declined a Key Account too.
From my branch working days the branch manager used to do them selves. I used to work in a city centre branch so a senior branch manager was avaliable to override the decison ive seen it done many times before.
If you tick the bankcrupty box u get this message:
When we were processing your application we performed our standard searches, and found Bankruptcy information registered in your name. Unfortunately we're not able to open accounts where this is the case, until we see confirmation that the Bankruptcy Order has been officially discharged.
If you can supply us with confirmation that the Bankruptcy Order has been discharged, we will proceed with the application for a basic bank account. This confirmation can be obtained by contacting the Accountant in Bankruptcy (Scotland) and the appointed Trustee in Bankruptcy (England &Wales).
Please call into the Branch should you be in a position to supply this information as this may enable us to take your application forward.
Branches are lazy now adays instead of just doing it themselves they just pass things round the whole of RBS lol

Do you think that is due to it being mentioned on here? Still haven't rang RBS to ask them to delete the search on Equifax.0 -
Theres no harm in asking to be honest but im not sure what the outcome would be!! Because it did previously mention that they would credit score you.

Noooo - they don't care what we do on here, they hardly have people watching for errors lol - they prob just realised they were acting against ICO guidelines and so got told to put it right....
They will not remove the search, what I mean is by the time you actually get to the right dept, a whole year will have passed and then they will not find the search anyway! :rotfl::rotfl:
I'd just forget it and put it down to bad experience, which is the only experience that RBS offer in my opinion.....2010 - year of the troll
