    hi ya sorry but both my parents is sadly no longer :-( here so i think thats y my mil has coordinated herself to me and the bridesmaids , im ok with the colours but just wanted her to have a new hat and jacket although they are lovely and do look new (been kept very well ) thing is shes not the most confident person so i suppose if shes comfy in them then im happy shes been a god send with the wedding plans because i havent got my parents to help plan , so im ok with it now ive had a think

    Gawd at the wedding I was at this week half the entire guest list wore black... I think depriving women of the ability to hide in something black that covers all known wobbly bits is tantamount to human rights abuse!!! (for the record I'd spent blooming hours trying to find something to wear that was NOT black and it was a pain in the bottom!!! then everyone else showed in black anyway) I think the whole black = taboo thing seems to be dying out thankfully.

    I think it's the whole traditional associations with black being the colour of mourning and funerals etc etc
