Matched lay betting and gambling loopholes, you can easily make £1100 by then.

HI sorry for my ignorance but what is matched lay betting? I'm about to take a gap year and any info on how to raise money for Uni would be greatly appreciated. Liz.

First of all, before anyone worries, it's not gambling. It's using free bet offers and a basic technique to make sure that you make money from free bets and introductory offers. You can do it from a PC and it can take between 20 minutes and a few hours per day depending on how much you want to do. There's a complete forum on MSE devoted to it and a guide here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=512

I find a lot of the time most sites do not let you withdraw money now which is won from free bets. I just went on vernons - wagered £10 - got the £5 free bet...I won £5 on a scratchcard which I was allowed to transfer to my account. Had I not gone through a cash back link I would actually be £5 down - but luckily I am £6.50 up due to the cash back. I find this with a lot of sites now. Or am I just being dumb? LOL

i think you can register with a lot of the betting company through cashback schemes like quidco, ipoints, pigsback, greasypalm, linemypockets etc to get even more back for your 'free' bets

Yes, there's around £200 of easy money from Quidco and Topcashback in referall fees.

  • only one option I'm afraid, i.e. the oldest profession...
or if you're attractive may not have to resort to that, can just be a high class 'escort' :p

seriously, um... stay in on friday nights, buy badly timed, badly described high tech stuff on ebay at 5am at a bargain price and sell it on at the normal price later?

Or if you're techie at all buy things that are broken, fix and sell. In fact if you're techie this shouldn't be a problem at all, my mate got paid £3k for developing a database over summer

Or get satureday job handing out leaflets on streetcorners
    bad hair day...

Okay, I am on a gap year and I will be going to university in London in September. I am working full-time (35 hours a week) and I am trying my best to save as much as I can before I go but I have just analysed my current savings and my expected income and (necessary) expenses over the next 5 months and I am £1,100 short of my original savings target .

I therefore need to make £1,100 in the next five months - which shouldn't be too hard... :o

I don't really have any credit rating at all so I don't think I can do any stoozing - I am going to look at some gambling introductory offers and free bets with cashback kind of thing but I need more... all suggestions welcome. :)

Oh, and I can't get overtime where I work BTW.
