I need to make £1,100 pounds in my spare time by September...

Options
Okay, I am on a gap year and I will be going to university in London in September. I am working full-time (35 hours a week) and I am trying my best to save as much as I can before I go but I have just analysed my current savings and my expected income and (necessary) expenses over the next 5 months and I am £1,100 short of my original savings target .

I therefore need to make £1,100 in the next five months - which shouldn't be too hard... :o

I don't really have any credit rating at all so I don't think I can do any stoozing - I am going to look at some gambling introductory offers and free bets with cashback kind of thing but I need more... all suggestions welcome. :)

Oh, and I can't get overtime where I work BTW.

There is a thread started by apprentice tycoon on selling books on Amazon and the type of books that have proved popular. It is in the ebay section here. I have sold several books from a charity shop for over £4 each that I bought for about 40 or 50 pence each.

Pigsback is under the "freebies" section on here and there is a thread on paid to clicks but I cannot find it or do links.

Someone should be along soon who can do this better than me!

    Best of luck!

Start selling all your unwanted items on eBay - clothes, shoes, dvds, cds...etc pretty much anything you don't want. eBay is a great way to bring in extra income. :-)

My advice is to start low on the asking price as you get loads more interest and usually end up selling the product for more.

Matched betting (see the newbies guide on the gambling board here) will make you £1100 easily in the time you have available. It's a risk free way of using bookmaker bonuses to generate lots of free money. A hell of a lot quicker and easier than working for it or selling stuff.

(Usually when I mention this I get attacked for persuading people into a life of vice, so can I be quite clear that this is not gambling, it is not the inevitable road to ruin, and it does work).

You could always try doing surveys on the internet- often pay pretty well considering how much time they take. Global Test Market always sends me tons- it works on a point system, then you redeem the points. Ciao often has good ones too. You could try mystery shopping too- often takes 20mins total to go into a shop, ask a few questions, then fill in a form, and you get paid at least a fiver for it. Try Gapbuster and Frontline Focus for things like Pizza hut and KFC (meals paid for plus an extra £5).

There's a longer list on I Love Freebies with tons of ideas of little ways to get extra cash. Hope this helps!

Yeah Surveys are good - but I don't think he will earn enough in the time space he needs - they are great for earning a bit of moola in the long term though. Survey Savvy is really good and they pay out quite high on surveys (not too regular though unless you are a computer geek)...take a look at https://www.surveyspark.com - they have loads listed there - no claims you will earn millions either so I quite like it!

    Hi

    another survey site is

    http://www.yougov.com

    or

    http://www.yougov.com/users/registrationIntro.asp?jID=3&sID=2&UID=%7BFE3D5051%2D48CA%2D4BA4%2D910D%2D54388585DF85%7D

they pay between 50p and £1 a survey and you have to get £50 to recieve a payout so it takes a while but I got there in the end.

Best bet would be mystery shopping, i do this as a part time job and depending on the jobs they pay regular if you can get it.

I believe gfknop are recruiting just now, they pay every 2 weeks and are my main source of work.

Go to http://cybershoppers.nop.co.uk/ and click on application form

You say your credit rating is zero? Have you incurred charges from the bank/credit cards in the past? If so you could claim them back. Through Martins link I found the consumeractiongroup and that's what I'm doing. It could be a good way for you to claw some of that £1100 back.
