  • Thanks lynn44. Have read a few reviews on the Internet saying accomodation at Perran Sands was dirty and that the whole site needs a makeover. Presumably you think that is unfair?

Went in OCtober half term to Haven Lakeland, and even though most of the site was flooded, due to horrendous weather, we had a great time, facilities where clean and all staff were helpful. Evening "entertainment" was a bit naff, and very smokey, not our sort of thing, but having a 3 year old meant we had an excuse not to go. Everything else was great.

Are going again in May half term this time in our own tent and it's only £40 for 5 nights, and this time we may see more of the lakes.

    Hi ya

We have been to several Haven sites over the years one of the best we stayed at was Devon Cliffs, Exmouth, very large, loads for the kids to do. We have our caravan for hire at Caister, Norfolk but would presume this would be too far?

Yes, we went to Perran Sands. I couldn't remember the name of it, until someone on here said the name.

The accommodation was basic but clean.

  • Thanks to everyone that has replied. Some useful opinions. Am considering Devon Cliffs or Perran Sands. Have also been looking at the Hoseasons holiday parks in Cornwall. Anyone got opinions on these? Have started a new thread here for this

have stayed at caister and scarbourough haven sites...
have to say they werent really for us..our kids are not in to the organised activities. And when we are on holiday tend to use it just as somewhere to sleep while we do day trips elsewhere....

weve been to both butlins and haven and they are what they are you know, cheap n cheerful, yes a bit cheesy (but thats half the fun :) ) and not the sort of place we would go without children ,but being as we have 2 of the monkeys its the kinda holiday they love

plenty for them to do etc and never bored :)

and of course you dont have to stay on site, get out and explore the surrounding areas :)

We have stayed at Haven Hastings - the best entertainment by far.

Haven Littlesea - just outside of Weymouth is lovely and on the local bus route into town so that was very handy

Isle of Wight really lovely and plent of things to see and do off the site - made it feel like a foreign holiday when we went on the ferry!!

We went on holiday to Pontins and came home after just one night - wouldnt recomment them at all

Butlins was also a bit grubby and had obviously seen better days.

Nice thing about caravan parks is that you're not living like rabbits, you do at least have a nice bit of space around you.
    :D have a great holiday

I used to go to Devon Cliffs when I was a little girl for the entire summer holidays ( my nan and grandad had a caravan there)

It was amazing, last year me and my oh went to newquay wales, and it was fantastic. We are booked to go to Littlesea, Weymouth this year.
