  • I take my kids 5,11 to Haven in phwelli every yr.. cant fault it.. lovely clean chalets, good food in the Restaurant, clean comunal and family area's, good entertaintment.. pleasant staff...

goin in May 7nts Half Board ( BB & Eve Meal) in Silver Accomodation !!!!! £127 for 3 of us !!!!! cant fault it for that price eh?

The only thing i find costly is some of the extra activities.. wave riders, aqua jets etcc.. trampolines.. and the arcades of course...

Theres plenty to do off site and some lovely beaches and excursions you can take .

We stayed at the Haven in Filey. It would've been okay if the place was staffed properly. You have to wait around if you eat on the site. The variety of food isn't too bad but you only really get a choice of fast food. Some of the families that stay their need to sort their children out a bit but if that's what you like then go ahead.

It was alright when we stayed but like I said it just depends whether you go when it's really busy and they don't have any staff.

Another thing is if you want your children hyperactive on the sugary stuff then go ahead. It's like a sugary feast at night.

If you want a quiet holiday then I would say it's probably not the best place to go.

We went to Cornwall last year (From Yorkshire) for our main holiday and it was lovely however we went to Blue Dolphin at Filey for a short break and didn't enjoy that so much.

Do you remember which park it was in Cornwall?

We went to Haven at Hafan y mor in Wales last May and it was lovely. Went to Blue Dolphin in Filey in July and it was the worst holiday we've been on, arrived Saturday, left Tuesday (had booked for the week!). It was just terrible! We took our (then) 3 year old into the soft play area and the supervisory staff member was asleep - he woke up to tell people it was closing over lunch time - I think he must have set an alarm on his watch! Reading what others have said, I think it was the general bad management at the park. We had planned just to use it as a base, but the weather was bad too, so we were stuck really. It was (and apologies if this offends) full of chavs. The cars were cruising up and down the caravans at night too.

hey thanks for that planeboy... Is it all NO SMOKING NOW do you know ?

Not sure - when we went last year they had 2 main evening entertainment rooms - one was more child friendly with all the kids stuff early evening and then some light entertainment later on. This one was no smoking, and the other room was more adult themed (no not that type of adult) like stand up comics etc - that one WAS smoking. They also had a good pool, shops, food etc. We wne with friend and we all had kids so we never ventured into the smoking room, but the non smoking room was huge anyway (very long bar..........useful.....

Agree with some of the comments about the Chavs - I have stayed at a few Havens over the years, and they can be a bit hit and miss, and the punters staying there do make a big difference. I have also used Haven Europe to stay on a similar park in France, and that was worlds apart from the UK. Nice park, but very civilised, good facilities etc and no chavs!
  • Was considering the Perran Sands park (Cornwall), anyone been to that one?
Certainly don't want to go to one where the kids are just left to run wild or one that is full of 'chavs'! I'm all for the kids having fun, but the things described by monkeylugs and suekjw at Filey would certainly put me off

Need More Money.... yes went to Perran Sands last year or year before....Lovely site in the dunes....( my son got a tick embedded in his underarm DR said it was probably from playing/cycling in the dunes) (YUK) but being doggie owner use to seeing them!!! but that can happen anywhere. The beach is WONDERFUL AND SO WIDE...We would go back again...were some "chavs " but only the odd 1 or 2...
nice town lovely places to visit and LOVED WATCHING THE SURFERS AT NEWQUAY...
