Hoseasons Holiday Parks - Opinions?

I'm looking for somewhere to take the kids (8 and 2 years old) for a holiday during the school holidays (probably August). Have been looking at places around Devon/Cornwall. In another thread I got a mix of views on Haven holiday parks, some finding them good but others having problems with older kids being left to run wild etc.
Anyone got any experience/opinions of the Hoseasons parks in Devon/Cornwall. I'd like to go somewhere with plenty for the kids to do, but I don't want somewhere that is full of people who just leave their kids to run wild whilst they sit in the bar and get p*ssed! Also would prefer it if any kids evening entertainment was not in a smoky bar.
I have this impression of Butlins being a bit naff (maybe I'm wrong?). Is Hoseasons any better?

Haven sites are a bit of a mixed bunch, but not bad on the whole The one at Torquay is good and the whole Torbay area is good for kids, with Torquay, Paignton and Brixham all cheek-by-jowell. also Brixham is only down the road and can be reached from Paignton by preserved railway. Paignton also has a good zoo. All-in-all a bit of a family paradise.
If you can't get the Haven site, there a plenty of others around the area."Some say the cup is half empty, while others say it is half full. However, this is skirting around the issue. The real problem is that the cup is too big."0 -
A park that we have stayed on is in north devon, it is called watermouth lodges, it is a quiet park with a play area and swimming pool, directly below the lodges is watermouth castle, you need to pay to get in and has rides and stuff for the kids to do.
The bar and the food in watermouth lodges are to die for and they also do takeouts.
We have been once before and are going back on our honeymoon with the kids in july.
They are in hoseasons but we normally book direct, theyput up their lodges on ebay near summertime.0 -

You seem to be right - it was there in 2004!
Here is a list of holiday parks in the vicinity, however:#
