Morning !
Absent for a while but still on the wagon - by my fingertips.
Decluttering mission has me extremely busy, my attempt to list one thing a day on ebay escalated to at least three items. Dump and charity shop visits are also frequent. The thing about decluttering is it looks worse before it gets better. Paypal currently has over £70, and Amazon £9, I'm hoping these two will gain enough to pay car tax/MOT which are on the horizon.
The big financial picture - I have paid off £1,706.11 since I started this diary. In that time I have used CC for a couple of emergency bills in the autumn. So yes budgeting is still a skill I do not possess.
Confession...I bought £10 worth of lottery tickets this weekend, played £5 freebie bingo then deposited another £10 why ? Dreaming. Real dreams of independent financial stability are one thing, but thinking a machine is going throw my numbers up for £1 or 10p a card is another.
There lies the reason I can't play bingo/gamble/lottery, I get sucked in. Within me lies a secret gambler, years ago before bingo and casino sites really took off I was sucked in to it. That isn't the reason for my financial downfall, but I'm very aware of it.
So that's £20 I won't see again. Lesson learnt - again.
Job, applying but can't get to the interview stage. Not down about it, at least I have a job. So I'm staying put until after the Summer. I'll keep looking, but have to accept it may well be a long hard search.
More decluttering, listing, pottering planned today. The old baby steps adage is definetely working.
Off to catch up.DC.

Glad to see that you are making progress, and although you spent money on "gambling", you have recognised that it was a mistake and have addressed it, so that too is a positive thing.
The decluttering sounds as though it is going well - by the end of the summer you will have so much more space, both physical and emotional, as a result.....and the money that is coming in will be most useful too.
And the debt IS coming down - so although perhaps not at your chosen rate of knots, it IS all heading in the right direction.

Yep focussing on what I have acheived
I think the liitle lapse was because I rewarded myself after staying out of the overdraft for a month...that in itself was a reward ie no charges.
Hoping your DS wins today and your aches and pains subside.DC.

DS is not the best at football - he does it because he enjoys it, certainly not because he is the next Wayne Rooney! That sometimes means that watching the match is a chore! But of course, as long as they are enjoying the exercise, that has to be something to be encouraged, so I make appropriate noises from time to time!
Well done for staying out of the overdraft. I have noticed a huge difference in my debtbusting since I managed to stop getting those pesky charges. I hope that this is the start of good things for you too!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Hypno, the football, I used to get quite involved at the touchline, might aswell have been an England match at times. ...
Stopping for a break, have been digging through the CD's. They really aren't worth much are they ? But then can I really part with George Benson - first CD I ever bought in the mid 1980's ? I think they are staying put for now.
DVD's are up on ebay and a load of DS2's shirts etc are awaiting photography. I'm getting there.DC.

Well with my new attitude to my job the day went much easier. Keep busy head down, have a giggle. Let the whingers whinge, you can't change them. But hopefully some positivity may rub off ...
Decluttering, I've sold a couple of books on ebay that didn't even cover the postage, let alone paypal fees ! So no more of that, bit of a silly thing to do really, rather give them to a charity.
Have a book voucher burning a hole in my pocket. Need some recommended inspirational, postive reading, any ideas anyone ?DC.
