O2 Outstanding Balance 4 Years Ago!
Hi,
i was with O2 around 5 years ago on a 12 month contract and then moved to Tesco Pay and Go in Feb 2005. i also took out a t-mobile contract which i am using and all is good.
today i recieved the letter below and i am shocked that its taken them so long to find out if i owe them money. i cant remeber much of the contract ie. month line rental or even the phone i had.
i would like advice to sort this out as i am not happy.
if i genuinly owe them money then i dont mind paying but its been so long i cant remember anything.
i think it must be made up for them to make extra cash as i was using Direct Debit to pay them, therefore the balance should have been deducted.
i havent rang them as i dont want to speak to some do-do in india who isnt concerned or willing to listen and it will be a waste of breath throwing abuse at them! lol.
here is the letter, any help would be apreciated.
thank you in advance.

Good god are O2 feeling the pinch or something? Chasing up debt from 4 years ago for £30!!
I'd ask them for a breakdown of what it relates to and ask for an explanation as to why it has taken them four years to ask for it. I've found O2 customer service to be really helpful, I don't think they are based in India but you could put it in writing if you'd feel better doing it that way
If you can help it, don't let them pass it to Lowell because they are scumbags and they'll drive you mad. Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

Its amazing that they do this when they don't automatically refund positive balances at the end of a contract. You have to request it and if you are unaware of this or forget about it then they essentially get to keep it. To me its seems almost fraudulent and ofcom should do something about it.
On the plus side they do at least refund the remaining balance at the end of your contract which other mobile operators don't do.0 -
Error on thier part, not mine, lol.
Sorted it with one phone call.0 -
So these Lowell characters work for O2 too, do they?
I had one from Lowell on behalf of Three mobile, relating to a non-debt from six years ago!
The best part is that at the point they issue the letter, they report you to the credit reference agencies on the basis of the sum total of f***-all proof that you owe any money (mine related to a 14-day cancelled phone which Three somehow couldn't remove from their billing system). My letter didn't even have a mobile number on it.
I don't blame companies trying to collect money from people who genuinely owe it - but to go badmouthing people to credit reference agencies on the basis of incorrect information is ridiculous.0
