"OK thanks for all the info, i am researching their health now i believe there are short hair persians too so i am looking into them. Shame they have health problems."
So shocked that you didn't recognise one as you are making a study. Well good luck into your studies!!?
I truly didn't, i googled all kinds of things, grumpy cat, flat face cat, etc etc, no images were like them persians.
Thanks, i found wikipedia to have lots of info just now.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
Any pedigree cat or dog with distinctive features like this tend to be overbred by breeders to exaggerate the features. As said, this can lead to serious health problems. Responsible animal lovers should think long and hard about buying such animals and effectively perpetuating the practice
eg persian/pug/bulldog/bloodhound etc etc
(Just my opinion)

My opinion too, i have had a think and decided to give up on owning one, i reckon it might be miserable in life and i will leave them to people who have a lot of time on their hands for the brushing and face wiping.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -
Darling moggies for me, any day. I did have a special old lady who was Maine Coon and a domestic longhaired tortoisehell at the same time. They were angel fluffbuckets but the grooming was a terrible trial. Just as well they liked it or they would have matted up in the blinking of an eye0

Yeah the short hair ones are called Exotics, I was going to suggest contacting MrsE as she has both types but am glad to see you've given up on the idea of one, no offence but it seemed like something on a whim which is rarely good for you or the pet x0

Stick to things that resemble the wild creature in some way - these mutant creatures are cruel abominations, designed to please humans' warped minds.
As you can guess, I have little patience with mutant breeders.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll

I have to agree, natural selection never designed felines or canines with flat faces - lions and wolves have evolved with noses for very good reasons!0 -
I'm a fan of what I call BSM's, (Bog Standard Mog) the best cats of all IMOFind out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)0

Actually this is not a persion. It is infact an Exotic which is a short haired version of a persian. Because of they way they are bred short hairs do turn up quite alot in persian breeders kittens. So they called them Exotics registered them and now they are recognised as a breed on their own.0

They cannot be shown in the UK but can in the USA. Many breeders use them to get the right face shape for their longhairs.0
