Haven't been to SW for years but when I went we had to asterisk that week to explain fluctuations... or could've been the week before... can't remember properly. Maybe that's the origin? Another one for depo here- big fan but am putting on weight really quickly:eek: *shell goes back and re reads first bit of her post*:o

I've lost weight with depo - I did put it on when I had the pill though - I think it increases you appetite - so as long as you watch that by filling up with lots of good food you shouldnt put on weight (or you could just take up my running programme - also good for the bone density issues with depo) :D

(It has made my skin a mess again though even with zinert = boo, but I think it will settle soon)

Slimming world is basically fresh fruit and veg, rice, potatoes, pasta, grains, pulses, meat/poultry/fish.

The 2 main plans are either eat as much meat/fish/poultry/fruit veg as you like and a small amount of rice/pasta/potato or eat as much rice/pasta/potato/grain/fruit/veg as you like and a small amount of meat/poultry/fish.

There are a few other combinations you can do, but these are the 2 main plans. You also have a small amount of dairy/cereal type products allowed and then a small number of 'syns' to spend on anything you like.

Some people prefer one plan to another. I preferred the carb heavy one but lost slowly, I lost quicker on the protein heavy one but found it boring eating lots of meat.

Its changed a bit lately but basically you have red and green days.....on red days you can eat meat with limited carbs and loads of 'free' foods (as much as you like) on green days you can eat as unlimited potatoes and pasta or carbs with limited meat and loads of 'free food'. Extras are counted as syns and you can have so many 'syns' a day.

It is food optimising I guess....but it means no weighing of food is involved.
