Drowned phone
Not sure if anyone can help but some water spilt into my phone, Siemens SL65 and I've tried drying it out and it's still not turning on. No insurance on phone so can't get a replacement. Anyone got any ideas?
If not, can someone point me towards a good deal for a phone? I'm on a Vodafone contract so the SIM card has to work for it.

You can get a phone for a fiver off of ebay.
Unless you want colour and camera, etc.
Nokia 3310, 3330, 3410, 3510 all sell pretty cheap.0 -
My sister catapulted her phone into a cup of tea . . . . she managed to get it working again by taking it all apart and drying it with a hairdryer (on a low setting).
Good luck!

i put my samsung in the wasshing machine and boy did it smell nicelol... it was only a couple of weeks when it happened but its been fine the rest of the year
it took a few days to dry out properly.. we put all the bits in the airing cupboard and also used a hairdrier on low... so be patient u never know yrs may need to dry out a bit more

Been there, mine fell in the loo
I dried it out, but wouldnt work again, so I skavenged an old nokia off a mate who had it spare
Check out your contents insurance for accidental damage, you could claim off that, but it will opush up the premiums, I wouldnt bother personally, and just borrow/ buy a cheapie off ebay until contract is up then get a snazzy one then:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
If nothing else, put your oven on a low setting, remove all the covers etc and leave it in there for a few hours.

Have you tried taking it to pieces, inc removing your Sim card, and leaving it in your airing cupboard.. may take a day or three..but always works for me.....
Hope you can fix it

one then
I did this too !!!
When I go out to the pub I keep it in my back pocket - when I got home "a bit worse for wear"
I went to the loo and as I dropped my jeans my phone fell down the loo !!!
I took mine to pieces and dryed it out and it started working again
Only for me to do the same the following weekend !!
It wouldn't work after the 2nd time though
Take it to pieces and dry it - it took mine 2/3 days to dry fully ad start working again

Sell it on ebay! Someone bought my old T630 for £25 even though I categorically stated that it had been through the wash and didn't work! Then find a K750i or Nokia 6230i on a 12-month free deal and use that. Like this perhaps....http://www.e2save.com/mobile/phones/disphandset.php?network=o2&handset=K750ICL0

Have you actually done this? Seems really risky. I've put the hairdryer to it on low.
Everyone seems to be quoting a few days to get it working again but I'm feeling lost without a phone (yes, that is quite sad) so am thinking of taking it into the Vodafone shop tomorrow to see what they say. I can guess... :eek:0
