thanks, we still cant make our minds up on the floor, before we had the fire surround we loved the flooring. now we have the surround werre not sure that it matches, perhaps we should go for something darker.

  • we recently had a studio edge 2, glass fronted model installed. We were infomed that the glass fronted models didn't require a hearth whereas the open fronted models do.

On another matter, I was cleaning the inside of the glass, and I noticed that the back panel of the fire appeared to swing away when I touched it. Is this the same in your models? Not sure if it is the way it's meant to be or a poor installation.

    Cheers

hi, yes i heard the same story from our fitter, but he did say once he had gone i could do what i wanted to the hearth (so promptly took it out the next day)

I bought our fireplace off the net and then found a fitter, and i had a good look at it before it went it, we have a granite linning and the back section is in two and they slide into some grooves that hold it in place 9if that makes sense) the same way the sides do. I would suggest perhaps one of them isnt sitting correcting in the grooves. perhaps the fitter can come out and check it for you.
