Alcohol self help thread II

I feel a bit bad jumping in on your chats but was hoping someone could help me.
My OH was drinking really heavily about three years ago finding cosmatose nightly.
Aprox 1 + 1/2 years ago he admitted a problem with drink and went to doctor and AA. He stuck at neither stating that he wants to stop on his own.
1 + 1/2 years later and he still drinks - not every day but still wants to stop.
He says when he does drink now its not what it was and messes up his head.
What I need help with is that drinking or not his mood swings are extreme and at about 4pm dayly his moods change as he battles with wether to drink or not that night.
I love him and try to understand but feel that his mood swings are so extreme that I cant bear to be with him for a full day. Weekends are awfull.
Today in a shop he cursed and shouted at me in front of people and really humiliated me. (no drink) He just seems to lose control of his actions.
Is this part of his battle ?
Is it "normal" to overreact to simple things and explode or is there another trigger?
I really dont think I can go on like this with him.
This is just one tiny incident compared to what we have already been through but for some reason really affected me. It probably doesnt seem like much reading this but I cant stop crying or get to sleep.
Hope somebody is there.0 -
1 Year done, how long should I expect to live for?
nicecarkeys, my wife thinks I'm moody and I don't drink. Stress is my problem. Working out that I'm stressed is usually to late. Counselling has helped me. I'd like to say getting him to talk about it, may help.
Cheers
