My mum has a 'god can'. Its a tin can that she writes the things that she can't do, the things that 'god can'. :)

I'm trying to get my head round this and tbh I can't, maybe I just don't need a god?

I'm not taking anything away from anyone that has help from a higher power/god, or a can, whatever.
But I don't think I need one, nor do I believe in higher powers. There I've said it, my alcoholism has got nothing to do with that fact, before I had a alcohol problem I didn't believe either. When I die, I'll go with an open interested mind, whoever of all the religions all over the world, I'll find out who is right, or as I suspect I'll find out you are all wrong. However I do believe in many of the teaching of religion, because they tell you to lead a better life.

However in the event of some proof coming to light, I reserve the right to change my mind ;)

btw Lewt, I read it or some of it anyway.

In that case you won find out anything :)

To be honest I've spent the last 20 something years of my life, believing in a higher being. I still ended up being a drunk. I regularly have new realisations at how much further my drinking problem goes back:eek:

So I'd say for me, I have problems seeing how a higher being who let me slide into a dark, dank pit, can be the same higher being that's going to help me get out the other side. Not seen anything yet. Love of a good woman has been what has done it for me, could that be a higher being:confused:

I'll just stick with the theory of what works, works:p

Had friends around last night, started to learn to play bridge. They don't get as drunk as they used to when they are with us now:cool:

I do believe in a higher power
one that loves us one and all
not someone to solve our problems
or to catch me when I fall
he gave us all a mind to think with
and to know what's right or wrong

I've got my own tools to fix this :) Thats what I reckon.
Although a HP that will solve everything for me and who is also super hot might be nice!

How are you today Al :)
