Does your sister no you drink, a lot? Does she know it is a problem? Could you, should you, have bought something else?

Had my mother on the phone earlier, she's coming on Sunday, going on Tuesday. Think it is going to be a hard time ;)

Oh I'll say my sis does know....I once phoned her six times in the one night...the last phonecall (lasting over an hour) was about 1.30 in the morning!.....I only remembered phoning the once:eek: (I only found out how many times I had rung her when the bill came in:eek: ...bless her...she didn't say a thing....)

I'm going to see my mum tomorrow....she's been relapsing the past 2 months or so (manic depressive)....and I think she is getting back to 'normal' now...which sadly means she is in serious depressive mood....so that will be a lovely visit:rolleyes: I know what you mean about hard times:o

With regards to the pressie....I wanted to put lots of thought into it this year...but nothing has been shouting at me to buy....so I've gone for a pressie each...and a bottle of what they drink...I'm ok now...the urge has passed.....;)

Hope everything goes ok for you hun XXX Best wishesXX

Hi folks, managed to get a little bit of cyberspace here in SUNNY Portugal. I wish everybody a very Happy ( I think MERRY would be a little inapropriate ) Xmas and a Prosperous and sober new year.

You too.....enjoy your time in sunnier climes;)
  • I find this time of year sooo difficult as it seems ok to accept a drink at any time of day, which normally wouldn't happen. I'm trying really hard but at this time of year I do think it's a good excuse :o

As I tend to post very infrequently (But I still like to keep tabs on you) wish you all a very Merry Christmas, especially AC who used to post what she was going through/thinking, which was a very similar to myself, but I didn't have the guts to post. Thanks xx

I`m off to spend a week in London - with one of my daughters joining me on Wednesday. There is an all day AA meeting (9.30 to 9) on Christmas day in Flood St ,Chelsea if anybody feels the need. Shame there`s no transport so it`s a 4 mile walk each way from the Covent Garden travellodge.
Stay well everybody, and have a good Christmas.
  • Hi guys sorry i havent been around for a bit been busy visting people and christmas shopping. Everything is done now:) I went out for my christmas do at work and did not drink. But i have had two today i know i know i said I wouldnt until christmas day. I have at least stopped at two which is unheard of for me.

I must admit it was funny to see people around me getting smashed on the works do while i was sober. And it was nice waking with a clear head and not worrying what i had done/said next day:)
  • hope everyone is happy today. christmas can be hard eh?

Happy christmas and all that jolly stuff to everyone

Time to remember some people won't be with us this christmas. Mich and others, remember the good times this christmas, I'll be raising a cup of erb tea to Mich.

The ones that are still here are the ones we need to look after, by looking after ourselves and each other.
    Have a lovely time.

Bummer, I'd just come to do something similar:mad:

My biggest thanks of the year, has to go to beer. I know it was a low point for him that started the original thread, I found it, it has helped me change my world around. To be more than honest it could be one of the reasons I'm still alive today:o Thanks mate:grouphug: and a thump on the arm as wll:p

To ac I give thanks for making me smile, who kept her chin up valiantly through bad times and even badder times, I think you've done great and I wish you all the strength in the world to continue with your march to happiness. Give us a hymn ac;)

Feelie, the person I've most wanted to hug and the person I've most wanted to slap. I hope and pray things are going good for you, that you get things sorted and you return in the new year. Be strong, you know you can:eek:

Jayne D a relative newcomer, thanks for the late night PMs:rolleyes: Remember a couple a day isn't that big a problem, unless it's bottles:p Just keep being honest with yourself:A

To all those who post the odd thing and the odd PM, thanks for the support, from all of us, you don't have to be loud to be appreciated:D

The AA mob, just because I don't agree the AA is the only way, I do greatly appreciate your point of view. ac would more than agree.

To the serial thanker, gone for the moment I think, I know who you are:rolleyes:

Anybody I've missed, big, big apologies.

Have a very, very [strike]Merry[/strike] Happy Christmas.

    :xmastree:

    I may edit this later:rolleyes:
