  • Oh yeah............didn't get p****d as is the norm.....in fact only had 3 drinks...........admittedly they were MY measures...and admittedly if I was a publican I would be bankcrupt:o

But still...I recognised that I didn't feel too good on them...so I didn't have any more.........and MY GOD......did I feel like s**t the next day (monday.....work day...pooh:o )...I swear I felt worse then than I have on far more??? Possibly because I hadn't drank for 9/10 days? I dunno.....if that is the case...then good!

It means it was getting out of my system...and my body was getting used to being drink free:D

  • One thing that I would say about this 'business' is that, as with a lot of things, each person is unique and has their own particular journey to make in their own special way.

One of the most useful things that I have found along my way is the following website:
    http://www.rational.org/recover.html

and in particular the 200 word summary of what 'rational recovery' is all about:
    http://www.rational.org/html_public_area/course_avrt.html

and most importantly - the completely free 28-page 'crash course':

    http://www.rational.org/html_public_area/course_structure.html

I love the simplicity and self-reliance of it, although I have personally found it most useful as more of a device and a reminder, to be used along with the various other tools and methods that I have found necessary over time.

Best wishes to all - especially at this particularly tricky time of the year.
    This too, shall pass.

In the clinic we were warned that Christmas/New Year is not the danger period. Many people cope ok and then think " yes,I made it". Then they let their guard down in early Jan and off they go again.

    Hey guys :)
I am back again (knew I would be didn't ya!)
First off, I'll explain my absence. I've pretty much spent the past few days fighting to live, fighting off various bad thoughts and urges and all that - not been a nice time, but I think I'm through it.
But, one thing, I'm still sober! Today is my 20th day drink (and smoke) free, which I am rather proud of! Now, I've just got get through today - ODAAT and all that :)
I hope everyone is doing well and that you all missed me ('specially you Al Mac, I know you love me really :p)
