AA basis itself on there being a higher being, whatever that is to you, that helps you through the steps.

Works for some and not others ;) I'm with you :)

The falling bit, something my counsellor said was, that I will fail, don't plan to fail, but when it happens, not to beat myself up about it. I thought that was a reasonable bit of advice :)
  • yeh i know but it makes me even more bloody determined, i am doing this for me but afraid i am not above going na na na na na either. I have never had a counsellor or anybody else. i know aa is not about god, but it seems to me for her it possibly could be. My o/h is huge atheist, while i am agnostic, (just in case):)

Mmmm and thats the big problem I have with it. I don't recogonise I have a higher being, except for my daughter, I just literally don't need to believe in one. I think its great if you do, I do have some friends that are very religous in one way or another and their lives are definately easier because of it. After all they never have to think about anything themselves, its already thought out for them.
I wouldn't mind believing in mother nature, but I do realise its only the weather :D
