Resonably heavily from about 12. After the rape, just after I turned 13, I started really really drinking. Most evenings, mainly just straight vodka.
The very heavy drinking lasted about 2 years, I've been trying to control it since.

and i take it thats not working? are you drinking now? i read earlyer you had four sips. i could never leavive it at that. the times i've threw away cans of strong bow only to buy white ace an hour or so later does not bear thinking about. thats not a green light to go and driink for you tho.

you posted earlyer that you are going to the pub on thurs? thats really not a good idea if you dont wanna drink, is it? if you hang around a hair dressers long enough your bound to get your hair cut in the end. a little pearl some1 said to me...

I had 4 sips or so, and I've not drank since. The craving is there, but I'm fighting it, hoping to beat it.
I can't really get out of going to the pub I don't think. I might try, but it might just cause a big row you know?

    Same old, same old.
I'm not going to win this battle, or the war am I.
I shall back out of this thread now.
Hopefully when I come back, it will be to help others as I'll have sorted my problems.
Good luck to each and everyone of you.
    Thanks for all your help

Hi jayne, I've just got back as well. Got to put my little one to bed in a minute and grab some food, but I should be around and about.
Have you got planned what you are going to do tonight?

Evening to anyone else about as well.

It`s not really about the amount of alcohol that you drink - more the effect it has on you. I would drink 3 or 4 cans of Tennants (9%) on a work day,a couple more if not working. At the very end, this went up to 7/8 cans over a 24 hour period. I didn`t really have `days` then. I drank a few, slept a bit and started again round the clock. Each can would last me 2 hours or more - I just sipped now and again to stay topped up. In rehab, the others told me that I couldn`t be an alcoholic as I didn`t drink enough. Even my doctor told me that I wasn`t alcoholic.
Thats seems quite an odd way of drinking to me, were you just sort of "topping" yourself up all the time, sort of to get to a normal state of mind?
Or was it you sort of liked being slightly drunk but not all the way, or am I miles out.
Good point out about the program, I'll try and watch it.
