hi guys monday morning still feel the same, have decided to put away 3 pounds every day into a savings account i intend to put this money towards something i have always wanted to do. Just an incentive, told o/h he quite fancies it too. However i feel that there is a really long way to go and that scares me. I will help myself but your support would be greatly appreciated from your remarks last night you all sound really nice people thankyou so much. I cannot even begin to tell you how fantastic it is to talk to people who understand and have been there. Is that strange? The only people i have ever discussed this with is sister and o/h, the feeling of not being alone is nice sorry i just cant describe it.... btw everything i have told you is the truth i will not lie to you.

I know what you mean about not feeling alone anymore - its nice when you find people you can talk to, honestly and openly, it does help to ease the burden.
I know it doesn't sound good, but just take it one day at a time, and one moment at a time when you need to.
I'm on day 2 (think its 3, but can't quite remember for certain) and it is rather hard.
I hope you get to where you wantto be xx

hi guys i have just been really crying and not due to self pity but i cant believe i have allowed myself to go on for so long like this... I have had a knee operation due to the fact i got !!!!ed and fell.. have ruined a friends wedding due to the special behaviour i displayed there... i once rang sane line coz had been on a mamoth drinking sesh ,sobered up and was so paranoid i thought i had gone mad... couldnt sleep eat awful, drank my way out of that one too..... I have fought with o/h physically, my children have seen things they shouldnt. Went to pick my son up last nite at his friends and he said your not drunk mum are you... i was so upset... and i wasnt actually...

So you do have some sob storys then jayne? Plenty of things like that from everyone else scattered throughout the 2 threads.

ac, I know, no hangover on a Monday again Really feels great.

theres a whole new way of life waiting for you.......

all you have to do is not pick up the first drink......

all those things you mentioned are in the past.... cant be changed...
so let them stay were they belong......

you aint going to feel anybetter about them if you constantly keep beating
yaself up about them...... one day/moment at a time.....


o and by the way............. there are worse things in life than being an alcoholic (not saying you are....only one person can judge and thats you)
