Firstly an alcoholic is a person with an illness, whether its liked or not. My sister is an alcoholic and struggles on and off the alchohol like many do, she has two children who also have become part of this life and to be perfectly honest this is NOT a self help thread (who needs to hear who opened which bottle on which day and how ratted each got on what night). To those that can come on here and say i drank a bottle of vodka last night and feel like crap, well done, but what to the ones who didnt drink a bottle last night and are really struggling, come on here and think hey what the hell there all doing it?

Secondly this is the ONLY thread where you can discuss your medical illness and offer each other help (all others that offer medical help are locked), so yes it has been given special permission.

And lastly im outta here as i have seen what happens to those who dont go along

Good luck to all the genuine ones who do want a different life :T

Oh dear huggy.gif it's very easy to turn to alcohol when stressed isn't it? I do it all the time I must admit... but I know deep down (like the rest of you) that that isn't the answer.. it just makes you feel worst in the end :o

We'll have to think of something to do to replace the booze!!

Hello all, my names Al Mac, I believe I'm looking for a place to drop in for a chat, with like minded people.

I am an avid money saver and have been on this site as a poster for just over a year. This site has helped me to pay off my mortgage early. I'm still juggling credit cards and am in the process of changing my current account. I changed my gas and electric 18 months ago.

I've also noted that people talk about things other than money saving

Based on the title of the thread, I'd guess we are talking alcohol problems.

Up until about 5 weeks ago I was drinking up to a litre of vodka a day!Almost killed myself.

I am now seeing a counsellor to help me identify the route cause. Ongoing for how long? Who knows.

I've had two crash and burns, getting drunk nights, since recognising my problem. Got a feeling tonight will be another and the second in a row.

Hopefully this will be a nice place to meet people with similar issues.

I wont bite. Hope to see you later. If I dare:o

    Al

I hope not, I get loads of stress but I don't drink anything stronger than a beverage or soda.

Good for you.. so why don't you go look at another thread? this one is obviously not for you! or do you just enjoy upsetting people?

You know, I have been on one or two forums in my time and it never fails to amaze me of other peoples lack of compassion or understanding (whilst behind a computer screen maybe?) I think maybe that the people who are like this have themselves a problem that they don't or can't share and therefore have a go at others who do!
