lost breadmaker measuring jug

Ive been inspired to dust the bread maker down and start baking gorgeous bread again but I can't find the little plastic measuring jug that comes with it..is it right I can't use it now because the measurements of flour, yeast ect..NEED to be measured exactly for the bread to come out right? Im gutted, I was looking forward to homemade bread!

    Hi Helen,

Which breadmaker do you have? If you let us know I'm sure someone who has the same machine will post up the weight of flour, volume of water etc per cup.

I doubt anyone will have the same,it's quite old I think..I'll go see anyway..

It's a Morphy Richards but I have no idea what model,it doesn't say on it anywhere but I can tell it's quite old. It's white with light blue around the control buttons if that makes any difference! I bought it at a car boot for a fiver a few years ago!

Hello Helen - I am the same. Earlier today I posted on the quick questions re: breadmaking. Iv'e purchased a second hand 'La cuisine' chrome breadmaker only to find all the recipes are in measuring cups (which I don't have). I am hoping someone can help. If they have the same model they could let me know what a cup of flour weighs.
I even 'phoned the customer services number on the instructions (hoping to purchase one of these) only to find that the number doesn't take incoming calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the recipe I use for wholemeal bread. It came with my original breadmaker a few years ago. I have had two more since but still stick with this recipe which I got from someone on here!

    put in in this order
    360ml room temperature water
    350g wholemeal strong flour
    150g white strong flour
    1tsp yeast
1.5tbsp sugar (brown is better but can use white)
    25g butter
    1.5tbsp milk powder
    1.5 tsp salt

set to wholemeal bake if you have that option. Mine takes 3hr 45 min

What other recipe where you after? I make pizza base a lot

The cups are the American style. I am sure you can get them for around £1 at Asda in the cookware department

yes it does. I have loads of other recipes I am willing to share but unfortunately they are recipes in cups not grams.

    Good luck
