A recipe for Jamaica ginger cake? I've got a feeling there was one on the Guardian website by Nigel Slater.
EDIT. Found it. It's not actually a Nigel \slater recipe, but he wrote it in his column here: David Herbert's ginger cake.0 -
It makes a great trifle with mango chunks and mango or peach yoghurt topped off with cream:drool:0

Thank you, but I'm going to have to be picky. These recipes are for ginger cake. I need Jamaica ginger cake. No, really, I do - I'm going to make it for a Jamaican, so it's got to be as authentic as possible. Please. If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

It's American. Can you translate? Cups mean nothing to me - they're all different sizes! I need pounds and ounces (or grams), and I haven't got any "all-purpose" flour.

Lol, well, you didn't say you wanted an authentic recipe!
I have made that cake and from what I remember, (it was a while ago) it did taste very much like the commercial jamaica ginger cake, but I see someone has furnished you with an authentic recipe.
BTW, there are online cooking conversion sites that will convert the American cups to British grams.0
