hiya!
the night rate started at 10pm. Don't think I'll be up to see when it switches back to normal rate.
it's 00:51 and still on night rate . . . . .0 -
Got up at 7.30 this morning checked the meter and the night rate was still going. Waited till 8am when it switched back to normal rate. The times are what the customer service agent quoted, 10pm - 8am (summer time) unless it splits into 2 periods in the middle of the night....0

What supply region are you in?
Does your bill not say which tarrif you are on?
AT the end of the day, if you are on E7 tarrif (and rates) you are winning if you get 10 hours off-peak as
a) you will be paying cheaper rates than E10 tarrif with e.on and
b) you are getting more off-peak juice.I have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.

My region is eastern and the name of my tariff is enconomy 7.
I can't seem to find prices for E10 on the eon website??!0 -
From 1967 until 2004 I was on an Economy 11 meter (with Powergen). In 2004 I rented the premises out. My tenant changed to Scottish Power.
They have now sent a demand for a colossal increase.
When I had rewiring done in the 80s, my electrician told me I was on Economy 11 but all the power companies were trying to get rid of this. However, he said, if you are on that they cannot take it away woithout your consent.
Sometime in 2005, Sc.Power changed the meter and it would appear they cut off the Economy 11.
My tenant would be happy to take the Economy 10 but Sc. Power reckon she is locked into an agreement until October 2009.
Any ideas how to sort this out?
I did have problems with Scottish Power at my home address about 4 years ago when they suddenly took double the amount out of a DD without informing me. I cancelled them as suppliers.0 -
we are currently in the final stages of installing our ground source heat pump, this will heat the whole house with underfloor heating and provide all our hot water. we are wondering which would be the best tarriff to be on the get the best rates for the electricity the the heat pump will require, we are at the moment with edf energy.
does anyone outthere have a similar system of heating that can help 10 or7???:eek:0 -
Okay E7 meter packs up last July scottish power fit single rate meter by mistake, turns out we were actually running E10 meter for past 10 years. Scottish power now saying they don't operate E10.
Does any one else have E10 systems with scottish power, rates such as Off peak A and option 14 have all been mentioned but I think its all down to where you live. We're in the old sweb area, I think E10 is only available in Manweb areas.
If you are on E10 of any type with scottish power I would be interested to hear.0 -

Try starting your own new thread my friend, you might get better results, you are two years late on this one.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. Probably way too late to be of interest but - We're doing a barn conversion and are using Ground Source heating run, obviously, on electricity. We use SWALEC and they came and fitted an E10 meter without problem. Our bill for last year was around £500 and includes all heating, lighting, everything (we don't have access to mains gas) so we are very pleased.
I'm surprised that suppliers seem to be cutting back on this tarrif as more people are likely to want this kind of heating system. It's also best for Storage Heaters too as there is the afternoon and evening boost. We get off-peak rates for 04:30 - 07:30, 13:00 - 16:00 and 20:30 - 00:30. Current prices are around 8p off peak and 17p on peak.0
