JSA - late signing on?

I don't get this at all. Even working people are allowed pre-arranged time off for something as important as a wedding. It's not as if he's off to a football match (although some might consider those more important than a wedding no doubt!).
What day of the week is the sign-on day? If it's a Monday then surely it is perfectly reasonable to have been away for the weekend. You are not obligated to be available for work seven days a week are you?
I just can't believe the JC people would be so unreasonable as to kick up a fuss because you want to shift your appointment time by a few hours. They are not God. I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe 0 0

Tell them and you can arrange to sign later. My partner and I went away and he had to sign a couple of days later, JSA was paid later but only by a couple of days. He had to give full address of where we were staying and sign to say he would return if a job came up-but we did go for 4 days so don't know if that would be same for you only going 1 night.
oh and, we were told by benefits advisor that you are allowed to go away for up to 2 weeks if you are on jsa. Any longer and you have to stop claim and start again when you return. you shouldn't have a problem 0 0

The jobcentre staff aren't unreasonable if you read the thread you will see the op is expecting there to be some sort of problem so instead of telling the truth he is asking for a good excuse .
Yes you are allowed holiday JSA and requirements can mean 7 days a week though again it is not a problem.0
