JSA - late signing on?
Comments

Your allowed to sign-on late once or twice. Its if its every week it raises eye brows.0

You are entitled to holiday in the UK whilst on JSA, ask them for a holiday form (ES674). You complete it, your claim continues, no problems.0

As it was them that altered the time, that is even more reason why the OP should have nothing to worry about. He/she (sorry don't know which) made their arrangements in good faith, it wasn't their fault the other party altered things.
I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Thanks, I will tell them in advance. I've just realised I can get a train from Kings X to my stop overground which only takes 25 min, so I'd only be an hour late hopefully. Should be ok, not too worried now. Just didn't want to go through the rigmarole of rapid reclaim!0

yeh u can be late
just as long you let them no that you are going to be

an they will be happy 2 do it0 -
Just explain where you are going you will need to fill in holiday form which isn't a problem.. If you arrive late you can be issued with a ES19 letter for your next signing day. This basically says that you arrived late with no good reason and if you are late next time again without good reason you may then loose a days benefit.
May sound harsh but remember staff are signing every 5 mins so someone coming late without an appointment can cause havoc. Times can be changed as techincally if your are unemployed you should be available anytime.
You are doing nothing wrong just tell the truth, staff aren't monsters, well some of us anyway.0 -
you wont lose your money.just tell them and dont leave it until the day!!!!!0

As long as you sign before they close for the day (4pm-ish) you will be OK. But you will have to wait for them to attend to you, which could be 30-40mins or more. And if it's more than a one-off they will want to know why.Hi,
if I turned up for my fortnightly JSA sign on 2 hours late, would they cancel my claim? I am being cheeky, but I am actively seeking work, I just have an engagement that I really need to attend to and they have moved my signing on time forward from 2.35pm to 12.30pm for 2 weeks time...I thought I'd be OK until the sign on man told me I had a new time!
What excuse could I use? Would they ask for proof if I was a couple of hours late?0 -

unless you are already on an ES19 letter, then turning up on the correct day at the wrong time is not failing to attend. Should this be the first occurrence, you should not be given an ES19.
However, to simply arrive at the wrong time for the reason you have is wrong. Do not use an excuse. You have certain responsibilities to which you must adhere in order to receive JSA.
If you are going away, you must inform JCP and you must continue to adhere to the responsbilities you have (you can inform them that you are going away and have no intention of seeking work and be treated as if you were, but you still must be available)0 -
tell them you are looking for work whilst you are thereLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0
