JSA - late signing on?

Hi,
if I turned up for my fortnightly JSA sign on 2 hours late, would they cancel my claim? I am being cheeky, but I am actively seeking work, I just have an engagement that I really need to attend to and they have moved my signing on time forward from 2.35pm to 12.30pm for 2 weeks time...I thought I'd be OK until the sign on man told me I had a new time!
What excuse could I use? Would they ask for proof if I was a couple of hours late?

Why can't you tell them the real reason?0
-
I suppose I could, but I can't afford to lose 2 weeks money, or have a major delay via rapid reclaim.
I'm going to be in Scotland the day before for a wedding, and my train back doesn't arrive into London until 12.45pm (an hour at least from where the JobCentre is).0 -
Can't you tell them its a potential job - interview that you are attending0
-
They would want proof of interview0

Get an earlier train?Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0

I can't, it's too expensive.0

Can you not say you are going on a holiday for a few days? This is allowed IIRC0
-
Really? I didn't know you were allowed holidays on JSA.
What if I just said I was ill in the morning and came as soon as I could?0 -
Why on earth don't you just tell them the truth? I'm sure they are not that unreasonable, and it is a perfectly good reason why you can't get there until the afternoon.
Obviously let them know in advance, don't just not turn up.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Just tell them the truth!
As long as you let them know in advance, I'm sure they will class it as a reasonable request.
Just not turning up would make things a whole sight worse.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0
