    Maybe the solution is for me to sell up, move north and buy something outright with the equity in my place and be mortgage free - Lou found me a fab house near her a couple of weeks ago! I'd only need a tiny income then.

    I think half of my problem is that the things I love doing and have enjoyed tend to be more of a hobby. Im not ever good enough to earn a living from it

    That uncertainty does not stop you going for interviews etc. You can always turn the job(s) down if the full time one comes right.
