Thanks folks but not much to update really. Water still frozen, weve managed to source some from the nearby stream which is ok to flush the loo's etc. Hate to think of the washing Im going to be faced with at some point. Anyway gas is back on and chilli in the sc at the mo. Kids playing in the snow that fell yesterday and hasnt thawed a bit!! Have enough heating oil for about a week and loads of fuel for the woodburner. We are keeping warm at least. The car got stuck coming back from getting drinking water today so we used the wheelbarrow to bring in up the hill.

Shaun, were about an hour from Clonakilty and have visited a couple of times its a lovely town, and you also have inchidoney strand there which is very popular and gorgeous

Morning everyone, still frozen solid here. Have to try and venture out today to replenish supplies. Dont have a lot in as I didnt buy much knowing we were away for xmas! Will have to tie my hair up as it needs washing desperately now. Will pop back later.

Got back very late last night after our food run. We got shopping and then called to a friends who kindly did two loads of washing for me and we all got a shower, sheer bliss!!:j Not smelly anymore. We then got back to the village and a neighbour brought all our shopping, washing and water back to the house he has a 4 x 4 (Im missing our landrover now), we then got our car to the bottom of the hill and walked home. Beautiful night loads of stars out but still really cold and icy. The snow just isnt going anywhere. Todays plan is to try and thaw out the water pipes, so fingers crossed.

No luck with the thawing of water pipes, absolutely frozen solid, we'll just have to carry on as we are and wait for a thaw!! Hopefully soon. We have some friends coming over tonight a belated new years eve as we were away and couldnt get together. Ive made spag bol for the kids all 7 of them, and some hm pizza's, new potatoes and piccy bits so hopefully all will go well.
Snowing here at the mo and so cold, no sun at all this afternoon. Hope everyone is keeping warm.

Morning everyone had a small person in our bed most of the night feeling a bit tired!!! Water came back yesterday so got to grips with the washing pile, so nice to have things halfway normal.
Two older kids back to school today and small man tomorrow as boiler is being replaced at his school.
Shaun no sign of the government here either, I know what you mean, no salt, no real roads either:rotfl:
