Oh it's no big deal, all fine. Was quite funny the pair of us trying to work out which milk to buy, him expecting me to know but not having a clue. Have to say though that the problem I have is not nice, sounds sillybut I have trapped a nerve in my neck and have been living on pain killers for 3 days now. It's caused the most horrendous headaches across the base of my skull and I actually begged my OH to do something last night whilst I sat and sobbed, not like me at all! He called the doc who upped my painkillers, great.
How are you enjoying the summer hols with 2 kids?Too many children, too little time!!!0 -
Ooh, we're getting all deep!
I think when i'm at work, i'm very methodical, I have bits to do in my job, to get to and end result.
Now i'm not working and just a mummy for now, I see things the same iykwim!
So - that is why I iron underwear and muslins.I need the end result of crease free bums and burp cloths.
Yeah right :rolleyes:Sounded like you expected
Bet you didn't iron knickers, socks or tea towels! You're rubbish!
My knickers aren't big enough to ironEvening, can anyone tell me if Krystal usually logs on at a certain time or just randomly? Hope everyones had a good day! X
Tara - she is pretty random!! She uses her (some handheld device) for facebook - are you her friend?
But if you say what's going on there is a fair bit of BF'ing experience knocking around at any time. We may be able to provide a bit of advice in the meantime.please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -
I love the trousers Weezl - they're brilliant
I did big floor cushions when the boys were little. I just made big pillow case shapes out of some bonny cotton (bright green with brightly colours cars on!), put a zip on one end and stuffed them with an old duvet and pillows. They lasted ages until my old collie claimed them and they ended up a bit stinkyI also made a tiny pillow and a tiny duvet with the scraps - no idea why, must have been a bed for teddy or something. Charlotte found them when I was clearing a cupboard out and she think they're great and she is using them with her dolls and soft toys.
Sorry to hear about your Dad scruffy. Hope he gets better soon xxHere I go again on my own....0 -
If you post your problem Tara maybe one of us can help till she's on again? Or she might be on later and able to answer herself
As for the 72 hour pill - it should be taken as early on as possible - the longer you leave it the less likely it is to work...
can I just ask... because I don't get this... if you have just gone through the pain of labour etc WHY do you guys risk getting pregnant again? (not to anyone in particular, but there have been loads it appears who have not taken precautions before pills kicking in etc) or at least so soon! 8+ weeks and hubby hasn't been near me yet lol - partially because I want to make sure everything is healed but also because I do not under any circumstance want to risk another baby so soon
As for emergency contraception - I firmly believe in existing life taking precedence... Any child that is already here safely should take priority over a potential life... but that's just my personal oppinion
First time we did it - i'd waited til nothing hurt anymore and i'd stopped bleeding (about 8 weeks), but in my mind at that time i wanted to have another one! (Is that just me!!) OH on the other hand was cautious! But my feelings of wanting another one right now have worn off now, so god knows how i'd feel if i'd got caught!
For now, its back to being careful. I'm not allowed (medically) anything hormonal (pill, depo etc), I can't stand condoms - we're currently discussing sterilisation.
For the five years before we chose to have a baby - we used the good old catholic method! It worked for us.:beer:0 -

When I buy it I buy Aptimil - supposed to be the closest to breastmilk I think.
To be fair - I think we have all done the sitting crying whilst feeding stuff...even when it doesn't hurt!!please listen to MFD - she is a wise womanProud Mummy to the gorgeous Benjamin John born 14 March 2009, 8lbs 14ozA new little seedling on the way, due 30 September 20120 -

bonny cotton - you're so North East! :rotfl::beer:0 -
can I just ask... because I don't get this... if you have just gone through the pain of labour etc WHY do you guys risk getting pregnant again?
i think its the excitement of being able to move and have sex again that is enjoyable and not to get labour started:rotfl: Just wanting to feel like a woman for 5 mins and not a mum is my answer Mrs T, we have a high sex drive and most times i have fell preg i have been on something or another. i have 13/14 months between my oldest 2 and younger 2 and it was a big shock but these things happen!(not to me anymore i might add lol!)What's for you won't go past you0 -
Had a problem in the night and had to speak to a doc at 1am, all ok but I was in pain so I was going to try a bit of a mix of feeding tonight. Stood in Morrisons today and had no idea about what to buy and also don't want to confuse Maddy with a bottle as I have no intention of stopping BF.
She feeds so often she makes me sore!
Ok - as I mix feed then maybe I can help with this oneWell I say mix - we've done a mix of EBM and boob
Depending on the painkiller being ok for taking whilst BF (which I assume it is if your GP prescribed it) then it should mask some of the boob pain?
Failing that I'd have thought just infant milk should do the job? It's perfectly possible to feed bottle AND boob without them then refusing to go back on the boob afterwardsI found that Avent bottles work best for us, the tommee tippey closer to nature that others rave about did most emphatically NOT work for us... Have 5 of them sat just in case she "grows into them" with time
