Will the CTF be in Rhys' name? So if someone gave me a cheque payable to him, I could put it in there?

Methinks I've got some reading up to do.. Surely :money:has done a guide on this somewhere... off to looksee!

Yes, it'll be in rhys' name. You can't access the money in it ever - only he can once he turns 18. Investments can go down as well as up;)

Depends if you want to feed his investment or not - we chose to open Ananbel a seperate account so she could access the money sooner or use it for things between now and 18. We also have a seperate investment for her she'll not be told about for uni fees wedding that kind of thing (or for us should the going ever get that tough!!!) but that's the idea.

We've got the girls savings accounts with the Abbey but the interest rate is complete pants... I just put it there because I can transfer from my account into theres over the interenet...

Off to investigate Tesco... I know Sainsburys do but they only offer a £20 voucher if you set up a DD and it's not worth it for me, we're rarely in Sainsburys...

Hmm... There's a little red patch that says 'collect up to 500 points' (Gee... Generous) but no other information...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

While we're talking about money, I'm going to be nebby and ask.. What does everyone else do with money they get for/because of their LOs, like the child benefit and child tax credits?

Because I'm running out of time, I've filled all the forms in to have it paid into my current account, but ideally I wanted it in a separate account with a debit card so I can use the card to pay for anything Rhys related, like clothes or things bought online, or transfer some over to the household account every so often to "refund" it for anything we buy in with the usual shopping. But I can't find a current account which doesn't look it has a minimum monthly funding of £1k and offers a debit card :(

ETA: I want it separate because I don't want to use Rhys' money just to "top up" our account and get us out of our overdraft - not because I'm being tight and not spending my own money on Rhys! ;) Want his money to build up so we can see it and it doesn't just disappear with everything else.

Too complicated? Is there an easier/different way of doing it? Does everyone else just mix it all together with SMP/wages etc?

I put Darach's CTF into Tesco and got 1000 points for it and opened a DD and got a further 1000 points, so £80 in deals. I thought this was the best option after much research at the time.

I agree with MM on the baby in bed debate, it seems too dodgy to me either in the middle or on the other side, I sleep to the wall, so there is no edge so to speak. I have never had any of my other 3 children in my bed sleeping until they were over 1 and even then it was if they were sick. But everybody has different opinions on all aspects of baby raising which is what makes this thread fantastic, you can use the ideas of others which you know will suit or maybe work for you.

There is a jumperoo on ebay, pick up only close to me, it looks cool :p
