We ended up buying a bigger freezer as we had no room for anything else - the milk just kept on mulitplying. We've now got it down to about 5000-6000ml but at it's peak we had about 5 times that.
what did you do with all the milk? didn't some end up needing to be thrown away? or did you put it on your cornflakes :)

Is it battery powered or plug in? We have two ringers (one of each) and the battery powered one goes of randomly. It's always the same ring though so we just set the bell pushes to the other two rings so that we knew whether it was real or not.
    it's a plug it
...and therefore technically always works, we have a knocker too to I think people get drawn to that over the door bell, but you can't hear ANYTHING upstairs in this house - the walls are soo thick!
I just get annoyed that they spend 10 mins knocking/tapping instead of just trying the bell

HA! HV just been and weighed Caitlyn - she's 8lb 4.5oz so has put on 6.5 oz in a week hurray! DH can go and tell his mother THAT! When we were there at h
the weekend and Caitlyn was fussing alll the time she said 'Oh get her on the bottle' and 'all mine were bottle fed'. Even last night DH said he doesn't think she's getting enough. I told HV what they'd said so she made a point of writing in the red book that she's got a healthy weight gain and that she is breastfeeding well and said 'you can show them that!' Sorry if I sound awful but they seem to think they all know what's best for my baby. DH's mum also told him I should put her in the cot. His dad asked me if I nursed her (he means hold and rock) so I said yes. 'Ah, you should put her down'. !!!!!!??!! She's 3 weeks old!

On a good note - my childminder rang earlier and said she'll be able to fill my place from around October to January which means I won't have to pay her for that time :) More in my pocket for clothes and toys lol!

    Off to catch up now!
:j and :j I'm so sorry people are experiencing these bottle pushers  I have nothing against formula - I FF Chris but I'm afraid if ANYBODY told me to get him on the bottle I'd blow my top :o Ed is MY son and only me n OH decide how we bring him up

thats what i thought, but apparantly having too many staff is a valid reason to not let me go back part time, they only have to allow me to go back full time ...
I think if they gave this reason you could dispute it though they can't take on more staff while you're off and then say they can't take you back because they have too many staff!

r.mac bless you with nappy confusion :) I've tried loads but now I know what I like (pampers baby dry) I don't like to deviate and risk not liking them or worse them causing nappy rash like pampers active fit do!

I'm ok thanks, just a little run down I think. One of the glands in my neck is swollen today and under each arm so I'm wondering if that is anything to do with my crick neck. I've been on painkillers 2 weeks this coming Sunday.

Re BF and MIL's, when OH told his Mum that Maddy was having 100ml of formula before going to bed each night she said she was glad I was being sensible.

  • I wish I had had all this advice when I was BF Ruby I was a total novice - I never made enough milk to express and she seemed to feed all the time - Oh used to laugh when it had taken me and hour to express 2oz and say no wonder shes always hungry! but i did give it my best shot ( didnt even try it with DD1) and managed to keep it up for 6 months with a bottle of formula at night time so I think you all should be proud of whatever you acheive especially the ones who are expressing - well done :)

Doesn't the postman fold them up? You can fit A4 through ours but even A5 get folded in half. Our old postman even used to fold the stuff from Royal Mail which said "Do not bend" on it.
you'd think he could use some level of common sense wouldnt you? we have only just moved in, maybe the last people complained about bent mail
