I have just realised that I now have so many different savings and current accounts with different institutions that it takes for ever to keep an eye on them all. I'm a rate tart!

Empty and wash out the bin.. make it smell sweet!
Can I ask you Flypeople a question, please ;) I have a plastic bin in my kitchen, lined with a carrier bag, which I fill with stuff for the compost bin. I empty it about twice a week, replace the liner, and wash it in hot soapy water. It still smells slightly of musty fruit peelings icon9.gif

Any suggestions on how to get it to smell better

Holly's right. This from Reader's Digest explains:

    RR4 Deodorise your rubbish bin

If something smells off in your kitchen, it’s probably emanating from your bin. Some smells linger even after you dispose of the offending bin liner, so make sure you give your bin an occasional cleaning with a wet paper towel dipped in bicarbonate of soda (wear an old pair of rubber gloves for this job). Rinse the bin out with a damp sponge, then let it dry before inserting a new bag. You can also ward off bad smells by sprinkling a bit of bicarbonate of soda into the bottom of the bin before inserting the new bag.
