back from DD2's school after picking her up at 6.30! from her Paris trip, she has had a great time, her and OH are now tucked up in bed for a few hours.
I have mountains of washing to do , I have emptied DD case just OH's to go

taplady - hope it stays dry for you today
thanks :T although its drizzling here a bit.I'm just getting ready to go - pink T shirt, belt and socks:D at least we wont get too hot, last time I did the race for life it was a boiling hot day!
I feel a bit emotional - its brought lots of memories of lesley back to me. I'm sure she'll be there with me in spirit.
Hope you all have a lovely Sunday, back later blisters and all!:DDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Taplady, good luck as you said I am sure Lesley will be cheering you on in spirit :T
Raining here again today  I have had enough now, where is our summer
Taking my car into Mr T today, they have a 1/2 price offer on at the moment on Valeting, I know I should do it myself, but I hate doing it, and I never do as good a job as them, so I am 'treating' myself
Need to have a general tidy through, I have stripped the bed this morning, was going to wash it, but might wait till tomorrow, for better weather
DD is still in hers, teens eh ?
Jacket spuds for tea for OH and I with ham cheese and salad from the garden, I picked another glut of toms yesterday, and we had a load for tea. DD will have a veggie lasagne as she does not like jacket spuds.
I need to nip into mr T and get a loaf and some more ham.
Kathy, the food over there seems to be much cheaper than here, apart from the cabbages
Jackie, congrats to your DGS, good results :T
OK have good days all xx0 -
Oh yes all the best Taplady. I am sure Lesley is running alongside you cheering you on hug
Hope you don't get any blisters!I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Morning All
Have a great race Taplady! :j
Re Swineflu - trying not to think about it at the moment, its definately in our small village so could be exposed just going down the local shop so going to continue as normal - we are all taking echinacea and eating loads of fruit and veg so hopefully will be able to deal with it if it does get us. DD has a heart condition though so that is a worry.
Late posting for me today though have been up since 6.30, didnt really want to get up then but feel much better for it.
1 load of washing on the line, bedding and towels in the wm now. Is cool but dry at the moment. Am in office trying to get some paperwork done so we can go out for the day tomorrow, but keep getting distracted!
OH has gone to do another bootsale - cleared out my old unwanted clothes and dd's - which was a horrible job  Was a last minute decision but he has really done it to help out my sis who is totally skint and hasnt decluttered her belongings for over 6 years. She now lives in a small cottage so will do her a favour big time.
Have mum & step dad popping over later so have said will cook for them - will be lasagne so will get that made this morning.
Have also defrosted a chicken and that will be cooked later to take some of the meat on a picnic tomorrow.
Best be off - have loads to get through!

Hi all
Well despite not getting up till 9 yesterday morning I was in bed again at 9 30:eek:...just shows how much sleep I had missed out on between DS early rising and migraines. DS is back from his dads at 12, I will be glad as I miss him when he is away..even just a day
i bought a notebook yesterday and intend to keep a migraine diary of headaches, what I ate and stress on each day so eventually I may find a pattern
Cool and rainy here again today, is this the end of summer?
We are having roast pork, pots, HG brocolli and carrots today...yum......will my pots be ready yet? The leaves are still green and someone said they had to die before you dig them up?
Am going to do a house clean today while OH occupies DS then it is done for next week and I dont have to try to fit it in around DS.
MSD glad to see you back and so glad Tristan still around, may that be for a long time yet
Bitsy swine flu seems to be becoming a real problem...we had a school up the road from us shut due to it and on Fri I heard there were several children with it at DS`s school in his year:rolleyes:..DS has a sore throat at the mo but no temp or other symptoms but will be keeping a very close nurses eye on him:o:rolleyes::cool:
JackieO well done to your DGS..are A level results out already!
Moliere well done on sorting the Satellite......French TV is certainly dire at best...although not as bad as Spanish which is all gossip shows and bullfights..still it helped me learn the language very quickly( you have to learn quickly when no one speaks any English)Can you speak French? Is it improving? I spoke French but no Spanish, now my Spanish is better than my French lol
taplady good luck with the walk..am sure Lesley will be there spurring you on:Tenjoy your day and a feeling of being closer to her:A0 -

Get your hand in the soil and have a feel around, any that feel big enough will be fine, the others can wait until the leaves die back xx

Morning everyone :hello:
Back last night from our holiday. Sorry to hear some of you have had such bad weather but I was very glad to be holidaying in this country N9Eav as the sun shone brightly for us all day every day.The only rain came overnight which suited us fine.
Better weather than we have had in France before.
I can't describe what a great time we had. The log cabin was really cosy and luxurious and the wildlife was incredible. I am a wildlife junkie so encounters with otters, seals, dolphins, sharks, puffins, golden eagles and huge sea eagles were unbelievable. We even found an eagle's nest so visited that twice and saw 5 of them in all. :jThe beaches there are amazing and we visited lots of tiny islands. Not as OS as I'd hoped as everywhere we went we were tempted by the fresh seafood so most of the food I packed is home with us again and my bank balance is lower than iot should be.But worth every penny. The island is lliterally on our dorstep and we go there alot for day trips so I was afraid that it wouldn't feel like a proper holiday but I couldn't have been more wrong.
Only downside was Dtwin1 having an accident yesterday. She lacerated her leg (and I mean huge gaping wound _pale_) on a rock so we had a 25 mile dash along single track roads to get her stitched up. It's a bad one and she's in alot of pain but it could have been so much worse and hopefully the scar won't be too bad.
The garden is like a jungle and I can only get into the greenhouse on my hands and knees as the tumbling toms have taken over. :rotfl:Unfortunately so have the slugs so I have lost alot of french beans and lettuce. I took all the flowering heads off my window boxes and baskets before I left and have been rewarded with a great display as a result. FIL picked 2 ice cream tubs of raspberries and froze them for me and I reckon there are several kilos ready to be picked today and more ripening.
Need to unpack today, do lots of washing and do something about the garden. Haven't decided what's for tea but will raid the freezer in a minute. Brought home lots of uneaten bananas so will be doing banans bread and muffins at some point too.
was due to go into hospital on Tuesday but have decided to postpone it as I can't face the long journey and the possibility of ruining some of the girls' holiday.
I know I've missed loads but did pick up on a few things so....
Sorry about your OH Hester. x
Welcome back Squiggly :hello:
sorry to hear about the accident Ruby. Hope the neck isn't too painful. x
So sorry to hear your sad news Hillstep.
