  • the postage is free so i have nothing to include into my price as it is already added
the item is less the £2 with free postage postage USED to be 75p which is what it states in the listing. It is the fact i revise my listing to take the 75p out of the description is the point i am making as MY POSTAGE IS FREE.

To be fair when I read your post before this one it sounded like you were charging the extra 75p for postage after the auction had ended ;)

But a big :T for doing the right thing and not charging 75p after auction ends.

ebay were losing out to sellers offering items at 99p with £xx postage, and so decided to close the loophole.
When I look at an item to buy, I always check the postage too; the amount I would pay on a lot is the cost of the item plus the postage.
If the postage is too high, then I don't bid.
If I bid on something that was listed as free P&P, and the seller subsequently tried to tap me for postage, I would not pay it.

personally if i stumbled upon a guy with a good, proven feedback record selling in one of ebay's free postage categories and stating he would add a charge after the sale, if it was the best deal available, i'd snatch his hand off, why would i give a stuff if he's breaking an ebay policy so blatantly designed to generate more fees at my expense?

Don't ebay have a few billion in the bank? let em pay their own staff to enforce their revenue generating new policy, i aint doing it for them, for free!

i have a shop on ebay and changed all my postage to free but in my listings say 75p
i was not ending and changing and paying again as it is unfair as it is just another way for ebay to get even more money out of you

Why can't you just amend the item description without ending the listing?

If you can't actually remove the comment, could you perhaps add a comment along the lines of "Please note: postage is now free on this item and no longer 75p as mentioned earlier."

I just got hit with this - Accessing Ebay through a G1 shows you the price of the item and picture, have to click a seperate link to get item description. Bidded on it as it was in free postage, and he'd put on there some very small text about the postage only being free when you buy it now at this high amount, and eventually we cancelled, I tried reporting it to ebay, but they wanted me to send them an email i'd recieved from the seller when i'd said there wasn't one, it was in the listing, so gave up and did a mutual.

  • Like Cyril82, I really cannot be bothered to do ebay's work for them, here follows a short selection of current 'FREE POST AND PACKING" items

    230358466599 - £1.25 POSTAL UK

    200361381057 - FREE P&P Collect in person

    230358443315 - £1.25 POSTAL UK
170359275600 - Local pickup (FROM GERMANY!!!!!)

In addition, I see that seller, thenumber_23, has dozens of items up at £0.01p with 'Free P&P' so they must be a real generous person. Like Cerenia, I suspect that there are going to be a lot of communications coming out of some of these sales!

These are auction formats with a starting price of 1p. which is pretty meaningless.

I used to win a lot of DVDs at between 1p-99p postage included, unfortunately most sellers have realised that their DVD might not sell as well as they hoped and now I haven't won one for pennies for weeks.
