I am lookin on ebay for call of duty world at war and i came across this
Item number 120448377308
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/call-of-duty-world-at-war_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ65Q3a12Q7c66Q3a2Q7c39Q3a1Q7c72Q3a2137Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem1c0b4861dcQQitemZ120448377308QQptZUKQ5fPCQ5fVideoQ5fGamesQ5fVideoQ5fGamesQ5fJSQQsalenotsupported
can a seller state free postage (Which it has to for ebay rules) and then put in the description £4 and if i won it is there away of not paying the £4. i think the seller might be more hassle than the games worth and also theres no pic.
your opinion and thoughts please

No they can't:rotfl:
If you win you could pay for what you won it for and forget the £4 but I can see the seller being a bit of a pain so probably best to just forget it.
Report the item to ebay and it should get removed if they can be bothered :rolleyes:0 -
what would i report it for and how?0

I had this issue a week or so back.
A very irate seller was telling me that he could add £2 on for postage even though it said free.
A neg' and a non performing seller report later...........Terms & Conditions Apply0 -
scroll right down to the bottom of the listing page and theres a clicky for "report this item",the item number etc will infill for you and you just select category and add brief description of problem."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0

Listing Policy Breaches....
Circumvention Of Ebay Fees....
Excessive Postage & Packaging.....
Then make a note in the Brief Description as well.

Ebay are forcing free postage on people selling in certain categories, it has affected some sellers business and they are trying to bend the rules by stating they will add the postage after the sale, basically though they are just charging what they would in any case, i.e. that would have been the postage charge before ebay forced sellers to include it in the sale so that ebay get more fees (you didn't think sellers were really footing the bill did you) and if they didn't state that they would add postage post sale the cost would be added to the sale price plus extra for the fees ebay will charge on it.
the answer to the op's question is, within ebay rules no they can't, but that isn't to give buyers a better deal it is to line their own pockets, in the end it costs the buyer more due to the extra the seller has to charge you for fees ebay will charge them on the postage costs added to the sale price.
All you should really care about is getting the best deal, not policing ebay's free postage rule, especially since it is making ebay more expensive for buyers generally.
if the buyer is not competitive with the postage included or you object to the adding of the postage charge then buy else where, you have the choice, to buy and subsequently agree to the charge then neg the seller for it as above seems very wrong to me, nobody makes you buy the item, you choose to, if disagree with the charge choose not to buy.0 -
It is a bit annoying, no its a LOT annoying  when you are searching for an item in a section that is free P&P and then take the time to read the listing to find out the seller is adding on hidden charges to the final price after the auction has finished
If they want to charge add it on to to the price at the start so when a buyer is searching the price is there to see not hidden in the description
And like cyril82 suggests if you disagree with the extra charge you can choose not to buy, and likewise you can choose to report them for wasting your time reading their listing

Cryril, I think the new rule is stupid but it would annoy me if somebody was trying to get around it in this way.
And isn't £4 excessive for an xbox 360 game?
 Think happy & you'll be happy
I :heart2: my doggies

i reported them anyway, if they want 4 quid for postage they should sell the item for 24 quid BIN and stop messing about, its only a few pence in ebay fees and i know this all adds up but the seller demanding more money ontop of the auction is just going to make trouble.0

I think you see why ebay brought in the new rules, it was sellers over charging like this that spoilt it for the rest of us who were fairer in our postage costs.
Personally I would not have any faith in a seller who breaks rules, OK I'm sure he justifies it by blaming ebay for some sort of unfair competition but what else will he try to get round as well, I wouldn't trust a seller like that at all.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
