As a light user who ONLY calls and texts and is already with Tesco Mobile, it isn't a problem for me, but I do agree that if I needed that option Asda would be my choice ( I was going to switch to Asda before I found this thread).

The name Lite should give you the hint that it's aimed at 'light' users of mobile phones.
A £10 top-up with Tesco will last me well over a year.

If I want to connect to the internet, I use my PC or laptop.

    That's what I thought.

Just got off the phone and after 11 minutes of bribery, the assistant realised that I definitely wanted to go on the Pay As You Go Lite tariff.

Very pleased now, as I have a phone when I need it at with cheap calls and no frills or gimmicks and 10% staff discount on top-ups. Perfect. :)

Asda's min top up of £5 would last me over a year. It is why I shelled out the extra 47p for one.

Why do they need the name lite then if it's only offering the same rates as a bog standard 'normal' tariff elsewhere.

It was just to point out that if people wanted the same rates but for whatever reason may have a need to use data at some point, whether frequently or infrequently, there was a big difference in that part of the tarrif. Sheesh, some people:confused:
