I've just got a lovely (NOT!!!!!!) letter from Glamour saying they are declining my custom this time & (I quote) "You will be able to find it at all good newsagents"

    What is all this about?
Try with a different email address and use your initials in your address differently and go for another offer;)
in my address I sometimes put the area of town where we live, sometimes not. Makes them record it as a different address on their records. i.e. 24 acacia avenue, OAKTREE PARK, Trumpton

Jus received the free OPI set from the In Style offer of early June that was advertised in Marie Claire.

In Style subscription offer: 3 issues for £1 + free OPI set (mini nail envy, mini rapid dry top coat, mini avoplex cuticle oil, siberina nights nail lacquer, tangerine scene nail lacquer).

The minis are really mini, that is 3.75 ml.

I've just cancelled a direct debit for InStyle magazine 3 for £1 offer because I thought I hadn't got a free gift from it and I was safe. However this morning I got the Aveda set from MarieClaire so my OPI nail set must have been from InStyle. Are they likely to chase me up on this and make me pay for the OPI set?

Must try and keep better records :(
  • I've never been made to pay for a gift set after cancelling the £1 (or other cheap) DD.

I took out the Easy Living/Crabtree & Evelyn Gardening hand care offer recently and received in the post this morning...

'Carribean Chic' - a guidebook to all the resorts have to offer! :j

I think as substitution gifts go this is the oddest one I've ever had (they usually have some vague link to the original gift, or are chocolate-based...and who's going to turn away free choc??)

Anyway, it's the first one I'm actually going to send back! Yes, I know - gift-horses & mouths and all that, but I can't think of anyone I could even pass it on to, short of dropping it off at a charity shop (visions of shelves up and down the land lined with copies.)

I rang and got a freepost returns addy, just thought it might be useful if anyone else suffers the same fate!
